I have been slightly interested in finding out just how so many girls I know have perfectly white teeth. When they smile it is literally like a shining beacon of pure angelic goodness... or something else that is really, really white. Meanwhile, my teeth are just "normal white" which looks fine IMO, but there is also room for improvement I suppose. Does anyone know of anything effective? Preferably something that won't chemically dissolve the enamel or anything with long-term ill effects like that? Also - If you use anything currently: what do you use, and what kind of results do you get? |

I have used whitening toothpaste in the past. It had some effect as long as kept using it. However, I think it was mainly due to my poor oral hygiene. I brushed about once a day, never flossed and had chronic gum infection without even knowing it. When I started taking much better care of my teeth, I didn't need whitener toothpaste anymore to reach the same color for my teeth. Of course everyone is different and one person's teeth have a different natural color than others. Also several non-genetic factors are at work: smoking, coffee, eating certain foods a lot, wearing out your enamel all make your teeth more yellow. And of course the amount of photoshop applied counts as well |

Lol. My current profile picture is from a few years ago, from before I ever started properly trimming my facial hair. I think it looks a lot better today. | |

I did many years ago with a gel kit and custom molds from my dentist. It worked really well. I haven't reused it since. This was before whitening toothpaste or strips came out. I personally haven't tried any of the newer less expensive (compared to the gel kits) since my teeth are still pretty white but I might try the strips one day.
