Good Evening This is my first time posting a thread, having found interest in the conversations ive read and acknowledging the comments and advise given and in need of sharing thoughts too. Health wise, are our dreams influenced by what we eat? By the way we live our lives? And what do they reveal, our character? which we might be indenial of? Because our dreams are said to be our subconscious life which we have no control over. |

They are just dreams so you should not be concerned with them. They can be influenced by many things. Psychiatrist Brain Weiss wrote a book where a lady had dreams that were influenced by past lives!

GREAT GREAT question. Here are my relatively uninformed thoughts -> I follow David Wilcock's suggestions for maintaining vivid dreams - no white flour, white sugar, or factory-farmed meat. I find that it works relatively well and I notice my dreams going up in vividness as I implement these practicies. But say I had something bad that night just by chance - sometimes it doesn't affect me AT ALL. So I think its more a "big picture" effect than anything else - your environment, family, meditation practices, etc. |

Also, eating anything before bed usually produces vivid dreams, but certain things produce more vivid dreams than others. This depends on several things such as their nutrient content and their digestibility. Fruit digests in half an hour but it contains sugar which can cause your brain to become more active, delaying REM sleep and therefore causing more vivid dreams just before you wake. Probably not that significant though. Bananas contain potassium which also is good for the brain and makes you have more dreams towards the end of the night. Something that takes a little longer than half an hour to digest, like a casein protein shake for instance, might produce more vivid dreams partly because of nutrients in it and partly because of the increase in activity due to digestion occurring while the body is otherwise at rest, thus delaying REM sleep. Mostly it's about certain foods delaying REM sleep so one has more vivid dreams towards the end of the night. Of course, substances such as alcohol and caffeine delay REM sleep much more effectively than any food could. |

| Votoshka, may be you have a connection with your cat at a subconscious level. After taking a course on Carl Jung, I have started taking subconscious and unconscious stuff quite seriously. hehe, do you have any unresolved issues with your cat?
