Default Here's How I Get Through Weights & Swimming

I don't particularly enjoy doing weights or swimming endless laps in the pool but I do them anyway. I just shot a new video about two weeks ago on how I motivate myself to do some of the activities that I don't really like doing (but know are good for me).

Hopefully, this will help some of you folks who are trying to stick with your fitness and health program.

The new video with article is at Sidedoor Motivation To Do Things You Don't Like.

Oh yeah, it's a poolside video so the look is pretty casual.

I enjoyed the video.

I hear people making excuses for not loosing weight or becoming more healthy because they "find it boring" or "don't enjoy it" instead of trying to find ways of making themselves do it or making it less boring. I used to hate exercise and get away from it any way I can now I really enjoy it and go to the gym and swim regularly. I even have a treadmill in front of my T.V so I have no excuses not to walk on an evening.

Human beings aren't meant to sit down all day, then come home and sit down all evening!

I think if something of benefit is hard for us instead of backing away, we should face and embrace the challenge.

Btw, it's very rare in my country to see people your age with a body like you! Well done. I have also started using your idea on a whiteboard where you put each day of the week and write down what activity you will do on each, I find this very useful and makes me accountable and feel bad if I miss it!

Thank you. Unfortunately for my country's health care system (Canada), I know that it's rare for folks my age (50) to be fit. And the younger generations are getting worse too.

I just nearly spilt my drink out! You are 50?! I'm literally sat open mouthed as I write this. I just assumed you were mid 30s after seeing lots of Motivation Web TV and your 3 part video series. Very inspiring. In England being 50 and looking like that is virtually unheard of. Even at the "gym" I go to!

Your videos just became 3 times more inspiring! Thank you for sharing them.

It's such a shame people in my generation (i'm 19) neglect their health so much, but all I can do is show a positive example and hope others will follow.

P.s When i'm 50 i've made a promise to myself to be as in shape as you.

Thanks again. It's hard work to maintain things at my age but having said that, I don't do fasts or diets (except for low fat) or any other trend of the season. Just honest exercise and balanced healthy nutrition (plus no sun tanning!)

And yes, I suppose since I'm putting out a video at age 50, hopefully the credibility is in my favour.
