I've read "Caffeine Blues," which is a decent book that got me convinced that I need to get off it. Since then (that was 2006), I have yo-yoed back and forth, quitting than getting on again, etc. That research DID help me limit the amount I was taking per day. Like I went down from a 24 oz. Rockstar drink to a cup to a half of cup of coffee. I certainly noticed the difference there, though I still had weird dependency effects (which were not a severe as drinking a 24oz. Rockstar, and sometimes I would throw in a black coffee as well, OUCH! ) It's not that big of a deal, coffee is freaking AWESOME and that generally leads to its overuse. You will eventually have to cut back, so go about it gradually and then get down to a cup a day. Go all out when you have a paper or exam to do the next couple of years in school. Then you can get your fix of being completely possessed by that nice boost in your nervous system. In the end, if you want to stick with the Steve Pavlina/developmental culture, you will want to quit. I did when I started getting more serious about a Raw diet. Yet, you will still rarely want to have a cup to relive the good ol' days. But you will realize that it is not worth being dependent on every day. |

There are several side effects of excess coffee : 1. Drinking coffee when you are pregnant can be harmful to your baby. 2. Too much coffee can cause nervousness & anxiety. 3. Over-consumption can caused a high, may result in a 'low' later on, causing you to feel irritable and restless. 4. Excessive consumption is basically poisoning yourself, and you can expect the get the chills, vomiting, fever, headaches, head-spins, and mental confusion. |
