Okay, I'm going to post articles that I just started to write on my site, and would appreciate some feedback. I hope they deliver some value for those folks that are looking for honest information on losing weight. I just started creating my site, so it still has a long way to go, but the articles will be something I work on regularly, because content is something that I love creating. Anyone that has seen some of my posts in this forum knows that writing long articles is my middle name. This is the first article. It is about a topic that many women are interested in, and I hope that after reading it - women write and tell me what they think. And, here's a photo of me, something I rarely post anywhere: Just in case anyone wants to know what the author looks like. Another sales page for your forum, and written with SEO in mind, not human readers. that is my first impression. For the entire first half of the article you just hint at what to really do (you don't say what to eat, you just say what you eat is important). You don't go into detail about the supplements, you just throw around some words that sound interesting and important. Not a useful article, and not saying anything that hasn't already been said a 100 times before and better at that.... I highly suggest you stop writing with SEO in mind, and start thinking about all the humans that will read this. Is this something they will share with their friends on facebook? Something that they can actually use? Something that they'll recommend if someone has a problem loosing belly fat? Cause trust me... by the time you get to the point that you are looking online for ways to loose that fat, you have already tried just walking it off.... |

In this example about belly fat and walking; I would add something that even if you haven't walked in a week, that is not reason to give up, just walk one day. Take it one day at the time, and don't worry about tomorrow or yesterday. Everybody knows that walking is good exercise. Yet so many people don't do it. Address that, motivate people to go out and walk, instead of just saying "go out and walk". Hope this helps!! (oh and the SEO that I'm talking about that makes it really annoying to read is the constant repeating of loose that extra belly fat with supliments / with exercise / with food etc.) | ||

| @ssandra: Thanks for the great ideas. I will take them into account, and rewrite the articles with this new perspective. As soon as it is done, I will post it in this thread, and hopefully you can read it and tell me if you think it has improved, compared to how it is now. Thanks in advance for this help, and I really appreciate you being honest with me and letting me know about these details. It is hard for me to be objective about it, since I have been maintaining my weight for almost 17 years, and everything I write makes sense to me, but you made me realize that the majority of my readers are not in this situation, and what I write is simply not enough for them to use it and produce some kind of results. Tomorrow the article will be done, make sure to check it out and let me know if it has improved or not. |

Is it possible to lose just belly fat? I say it's not. The belly is where lots of fat tends to collect, but you aren't just burning that fat when you lose weight. Seems pretty disingenuous and gimmicky to me. EDIT: Seeing Fendaril's reply, I'd chime in with "Tell them to lift heavy and eat healthy." Cardio is good, lifting is better.
