Quite recently, I've noticed that my cystic pimple has gotten better on a cooked diet than raw. I was eating organic salads, peppers, cucumbers daily and my face wasn't getting better. Now, I am eating cooked, spicy food and it is. is it possible that the products from Whole foods were sprayed with some preservative? Or possibly raw foods cause an allergy within me? |

Have you been eating oils and nuts on the raw diet? (could be one reason for the skin to get problems). Another explanation: That you are detoxing and in the detox process the skin gets worse before it gets better (but of course that could also be not true and then it gets only worse after it got bad :-) ) |

The mistake most that try to eat raw make is thinking it's making them sick. Then they give up eating it. It's all of the years of unhealthy food that has caused the issues. Raw cleanses you out. Also organic produce is very important, way more than most people believe. Once you eat it for awhile, if you try conventional, you can often taste the poison used to grow them. Or it just tastes very bland. Not necessarily with all food, but most you'll find a distinct difference. Regardless of taste, it's still toxic. So if you're able to, try to stick with organic. People talk about not being able to afford it, but when you figure out how much it costs to not be healthy, you'll realize just how much money (and time) you're saving. |

Thanks for all the replies. Thing is, I was eating pretty healthy before going mostly raw. I just ate cooked veggies instead of raw. But the raw is hard on my stomach and I wasnt getting enough calories. eating more indian, spicy food seems to keep my acne at bay.

I've heard the properties in cayenne (hotness of the pepper) does actually have some benefits to clearing skin, so that may explain it. Lots of water helps as well. Dark chocolates are actually good as an anti-toxin and can clear your complexion.
