Default Water Fasting - Q/A- Motivation - Tips

After reading about water fasting for over a year and doing some smaller fasts between 1-3 days, I've decided to go on a longer fast. I'm very overweight, but it is about more then that. This is also about breaking my addiction to food and everything that goes along with it. I think I've read most of the dos/donts, understand how to properly break it, etc. I'm not sure how long I want this fast to go, probably at least 14 days, but I'm just aiming for 7 right now. I'll try to post an update everyday, and maybe even more if I find it necessary!

Currently on Day 2. Everything has been going fine. I mostly fight off the WANT to eat, not the NEED. I have a slight headache that has been here since mid afternoon yesterday, but it isn't anything I can't handle. Still feel okay on energy, although it is only day 2.

I want this thread to be peoples stories of fasting, questions, tips, answers for others and all around motivation. I feel a place that people are comforted in knowing they are not alone and have people there to help them is awesome!

TIP: It is OK to get vitamin D from sunbathing while fasting. Sunbathing helps the body to cleanse itselfl faster.

Thanks for starting this thread, and best of strength to you. I've wanted to go on an extended cleansing fast for years, but every time I try I can't get past the first day. Having a stressful job certainly doesn't help.

I am looking forward to the upcoming tips and updates ...

Stay strong!

Well almost done with day three. Had the same minor headache the last three days and I'm assuming its from lack of sugar or caffeine in my diet. My stomach is still rumbling a lot. Does that pass in time as well? I would ask what people would consider warning signs to end a fast?? I've done a ton of reading and pretty much know what to expect but I don't want to confuse detox symptoms with something that should be taken as a sign to break the fast. I've never made it over three days before so everything after today is a journey.

Does anyone have personal experiences with fasting? Well of course people do and if so please feel free to share!!! I'm already looking forward to learn more and grow as I go! I'm only worried with my willpower when I break the fast and gaining the lost weight and toxins back. I'm going on vacation towards the end so I'm hopeful to remain breaking the fast correctly.

I agree the first day has been my hardest so far. I had about ten first days!! Simply because I was always able to say there is always tomorrow! Now I can say no way am I screwing up what I've started! Stay strong fellow fasters!

Personal experience, I went 21 days on water, then 7 on juices. It did nothing for my will power, nothing in breaking any "addictions" to food. The fast was easy, eating healthy and in control, will be the hard work. Make sure you have a good plan on how to break it, what foods you will be eating post fast, and stick to it.

ScottCofer -> Stop making excuses then. You want to cleanse? Then do it! You don't need a water fast to cleanse. Just eating fruits and veggies will allow the body to do naturally. Or look up some of the cleansing diets out there.
