I figured it was time to drop in on the discussion I started several months ago. My starting weight was 272.9 then. After a false start or two (part of which was documented here), about five weeks ago I started over.

I don't remember what the starting number was this time (around 270, I think), but this morning, I was 259.9.

All I've done is a combination of slow-carb food and upper-body weight training 3x/week; I haven't even worked anything particularly aerobic into the mix yet. That's next.

What's incredible is that I'm not even perfect on the slow-carb thing; just about every night, I have a bit of chocolate, and I've been eating fruit like it's the last thing I'm ever gonna get.

(Me arms don't look 'alf-bad, either, if I do say so meself.)

Could I lose faster if I cut out the fruit? Sure. But I'd also go insane a lot faster and backslide. 2 lbs/week is acceptable to me. Misery is not my goal.

Default Weight loss tips

Weight loss tips accompanied by walking helps you a lot in losing weight. Three universal goals that most of us share are: to live longer, to live free of illness or disease and to control our weight. Interesting enough, normal walking lets us achieve all three.
Walking is one of the best exercises for controlling weight, maintaining good posture, toning the leg muscles, strengthening bones and improving positive self-concept. Weight loss tips along with walking are the best way to lose weight.
In fact, the best medicine for slowing the aging process for a man is walking. Walking works almost every muscle in the body, improving circulation to the blood vessels and massaging the joints. It also keeps us young in spirit. Walking also helps us maintain both our muscle mass and metabolism as we age. For anyone who is overweight or unathletically inclined, walking is the no-sweat, no-stress answer to lifelong conditioning.
