Actually, can you imagine a human try to kill an animal with its teeth??
No, I couldn't. That is why this occurred to me. I notice that realistically speaking human don't make good carnivores. If we were...we wouldn't need knifes to cut our steak. which we also have to cook of course. Raw foods fascinates me and I am slowly moving towards the idea.

Its just something you really got to do your research on because its not like were walking long distances through a light forest all day. There is other things we get stuck doing in society nowadays.

But, and this is a big but, we have the intelligence and know-how to make a knife, we have the opposable thumbs needed to wield that knife, and we have the dexterity and skill to use that knife to kill animals for food.

All of this makes us good carnivores (omnivores, actually, because that is what we are, but a lot of vegans seem to forget that that classification exists).

Yup. Being natural in an unnatural society isn't so easy.

Eating enough fruit can take lots of time, for instance, which our cousins the bonobos, chimpanzees and others have, but we often don't.

Cooked food also heats our bodies in our cold environment, which isn't the place we evolved to live in. So we have to find other ways to deal with the cold.

Finally, cooked food can provide a sort of "medication" against the spiritual void and general pain we suffer in our unnatural capitalist lives. So we have to heal the void to be able to cope with raw food - something which requires a radical change in all areas of our lives.

Appendix May Actually Have a Purpose

I have no evidence to support such but it seemed extremely curious to me and I related the idea back to this thread. Thoughts anyone?

Well yes, in a way we do make good omnivores in practice. I suppose I jumped into that classification to quickly. However I do seem it to be possible that our canine teeth are unnecessary. Being as in society we have tools that make them obsolete and I really find the idea of humans being large consumers of raw vegan foods logically appealing.

I think it takes a lot of discipline and practice. I often worry when I go a day with primarily raw meals that I am not taking in enough calories. However I do notice that even though I am down with whats either a cold or allergies I am still able to jump into a rather energetic wellness without trouble. I do admire the bonobos.

-This makes sense to me. Interesting...

"In addition, according to the hygiene hypothesis, the lack of germs in modern society may cause the immune system to overreact and attack the good bacteria stored away in the appendix."
-this seems like it would be a concern. One reason I am cautious when it comes to hygiene in the sense of "KILL ALL GERMS GAHHHH!!!"

It's not that we forget that classification exists, it's that omnivorous animals are extremely similar to carnivores and share little to no characteristics with herbivores.

And yes, that's a big but. We are smart enough to eat meat, just like we're smart enough to eat potatoes, grains, and legumes. But are we designed to eat this?

And a dove as well apparently. He also claimed to have snorted a line of ants once too.
