Food combining

I am just starting to try food combining. I had a little search for it on this forum to see if there were any discussions about it, but I didn't find much. So I wondered, has anyone here tried it before? What were your experiences with it? :)

The people who created it, have withdrawn it. They found that it did not apply to most people. Although because fruit does not need to be digested, it is best to eat it on an empty stomach.

Kei, I am not sure if you are referring to the "combine carbs and protein together" idea or the "seperate certain foods and eat them on their own" idea, but I did the latter as the first does not work with my stomach.

So, for example, I was eating tofu/other (mainly)protein food with veg and no (mainly)carbohydrate food, or perhaps (mainly carbohydrate) food like spelt pasta with veg and no (mainly)protein food, and then fruit just alone, like ginko said it may not need to be digested just to pass through and then if you eat it after other foods it can just ferment and cause acid and not digest sufficiently. And fats liuke avocados and nuts I could add to my meals. It worked well, I still mostly eat that way, its great for me. But to each body a different make up so I guess you need to try things and find out what works for you.

Thanks for your replies :)

Aware, I am talking about the latter, yeah. Thanks for telling me about your experience with it! I read about it and it seemed to make a lot of sense, so I tried it for a few days. But during that time I read a lot of criticism about it, which also seemed to make sense. I am no scientist, so I will have to just experiment and see what improves my health the most. I decided that for now, I will just switch to what people would generally agree is a healthier diet (cutting out salt and sugar, no white/refined grains, eating lots of fresh green veggies and fruit etc). Then a little while later, when I'm accustomed to eating this way and have felt the benefits, I'm going to try food combining for a month or so and see if it helps at all.

One thing I loved about food combining was eating fruit for breakfast, so I'm glad to hear fruit is best on an empty stomach :D
