| I've been following the principles laid out in the book "Fit for Life" for about a week now. Like Steve Pavlina mentioned in his blog post "Why Vegan?", I too was motivated purely by the concept of gaining additional energy. I read many of the reviews on Amazon.com where reviewers said they gained an increase in energy. After a week, I'm a little disappointed thus far. To be fair, I started the program on Monday, got sick on Tuesday and am now just recovering. I know Harvey Diamond talks in the book about the Protein Myth but I will be looking to add muscle as I am quite skinny (and have always been - 6'2", 165 lbs.). Since virtually every bodybuilding program states how important protein is in building muscle I am skeptical if this program would work for anything other than losing excess fat that has been carried due to eating non-nutrious foods. On the other hand, if this diet provides me with more energy, I could see that translating into lifting more weight at the gym which should result in building more muscle if the energy stays high. I'd be interested in hearing other people's opinions on the Fit For Life diet and vegetarin diets that can result in more energy - especially coming from a person that has gained muscle rather than losing fat. I plan to continue on for another week or two. I'll try to post my findings here. |
