I got the flu, (the worst kind of flu I can recall having, ever) just after Christmas last year. I felt it coming as I got really achy and weak. It's taken me 2 weeks to recover, I've gone from not being able to crawl out of bed to having migraines at night and now I'm dealing with not being able to sleep (end up sleeping like at 4 am) and then feeling so tired I can't fully wake up so I just languish in bed until 2 or 3 pm, it's horrid. When I finally get up I'm not hungry at all. I've been eating around 500 or 600 calories for a few days now. I just don't feel like eating anything, I have to force myself. Thinking about *having* to eat makes me a bit queasy to be honest. I feel like I really fell off the wagon this time. I haven't been to the gym in about 4 weeks now, first due to the cold weather, then the flu, then feeling like crap warmed up... plus I don't think it's healthy exercising when having eaten so little... I wonder if this is a result of this really bad flu or what. Anyone's experienced something similar? |

A lot of times when our body is fighting off something, it doesn't want to have to digest food. So it sends signals to stop eating for a while. This is normal and natural. If hunger isn't apparent right now for you, the wisest thing may just be to suspend eating for a day or two and let the body use its energy at fighting, repairing and healing.

Oh man, that sounds rough. Yeah, just be patient with your body here, I'd say. It's recovering from some hard stuff. What kind of flu was it? I had a stomach flu for about a week last year. It came on very suddenly: all the sudden I was puking for hours. I vomited the next day, too, and became super dehydrated. I was able to drink fluids the next day, but it took about a week total for me to be able to eat normally again. I lived off crackers and gingerale for days there, lol. But when I started to get hungry, I really felt it. I went over a friend's to get out of the house and we chowed down on Indian, which felt like God in my tummy. I could literally feel the strength returning by the instant. So, give it time, and keep making yourself eat. Drink plenty of fluids, you might still be dehydrated. Listen to your body. |

You may find what really is the issue, here Ascension First-Aid These are symptoms..and I just finished up a 3 days awake..one week no solid food ....run in the energy binge thing. It's prana energy sustaining you. (otherwise known as Kundalini or Christ light) You are probably going through spiritual awakening. You will find much help there. You can PM me, if you like or have questions. Love and light, Rebecca |

Thanks for the replies Not sure what kind of flu, it might have been the swine flu for all I know. I was all achy, weak, feverish, clogged nose, sneezy, lots of snot, prickly throat, coughs... That lasted for like 10 days. I forced myself to eat calorie high food but I just felt stuffed and with a feeling of nausea. I'm feeling a bit more normal today, hopefully I'll be able to sleep tonight, we'll see. |

I had a very very bad case of throat infection in November, and ever since I seem to be catching everything that even looks my way... I even got ill last week because of being in a warmer climate and the change between outside (hot) and inside (airco). I NEVER get ill, and even less because of that!! Anyway... I still feel very weak. Walking up the stairs has me out of breath most of the time. Doing some shopping, and I'm exhausted. I am trying to tackle it the other way, by eating healthy (not much of an appetite either, except for fruit) and by starting light exercise. And having an appointment with the doctor tomorrow to sort things out |

Your body is talking to you but you are not listening. What is it saying? This is not rocket science. Never force yourself to eat if you are not hungry. Say that you want to have sex and have sex. What is wrong with that? Nothing. What if you do not want to have sex and someone forces you. That is rape and it is a capital crime (worst type of crime). The difference between sex and rape is force. Your body is telling you to stop eating. You need to fast. See this webpage with quotes from 23 MDs about fasting. Prescription for Natural Healing by James Balch M.D. and Phyllis Balch CNC says "Fasting is an effective and safe method of detoxifying the body...A technique that wise men have used for centuries to heal the sick. Fast regularly and help the body heal itself and stay well. Give all of your organs a rest. Fasting can help reverse the aging process, and if we use it correctly we will live longer, happier lives. Also here is a webpage about the quickest way to get over a cold or flu. Note that starving and fasting are 2 different things. Twain means fasting. Mark Twain suggests fasting when you have the flu. He says "A little starvation can really do more for the average sick man than can the best medicines and the best doctors. I do not mean a restricted diet; I mean total abstinence from food for one or two days. I speak from experience; starvation has been my cold and fever doctor for 15 years, and has accomplished a cure in all instances." Last edited by ginkgo; 01-11-2011 at 02:39 AM. |
