Hi everyone, I am not sure what the real cause is but it seems like my body has changed a lot within the last couple of months. Well, not long ago I used to eat junk food everyday. Normally I would eat huge greasy meals with a lot of meat. I used to love fast food and hamburger was my favorite. Within the last couple of months however, I tend to go for more healthy foods, unconsciously. Right now, I loathe meat, any kind. I can't stand any kind of junk food. I can't eat a lot of food at a time. Sometimes when there is no other chance but to eat junk food, greasy meals with meat or fast food, I'd end up feeling sick and sleepy the whole day. On the other hand, I find myself eating a lot of fruit and vegetable. I eat salad with EVERY meal. And for breakfast only fruit seems really appealing. I do feel healthier and my skin seems a lot more vibrant but I didn't decide any of those changes. Is this something good or should I see a doctor? Has any of you had an experience like this before? |

It sounds like you are just listening to your body and what it wants and needs...which is a great thing. No need to see a doctor, unless you feel sick remember. You sound perfectly healthy to me...why would there be anything wrong with that? Quote:

As the above poster said, I can't imagine it being a bad thing if you actually feel healthier. I have noticed that the more meat I consume, the more tired I usually feel throughout the day. On the other hand, if I mostly consume fruit for a whole day, I usually have energy the whole day. So, I can sort of vouge for eating less meat to be a good thing. |

I feel very healthy and I like it this way, just wondering if others(vegetarians perhaps) have encountered such a thing or not.

I also began rejecting unhealthy foods. I can't even get the satisfaction of eating fast food or a glass of soda because I know that it has a negative effect on me. I'm not a vegetarian, vegan or raw foodist, but I'm beginning to not be able to tolerate cooked process foods as well. The only problem is that I need a lot of food to maintain my weight, as I'm kind of thin and work out.

What you should be asking is. Is my body turning healthy? Nothing about what you said, has shown me your body doesn't want meat. The stuff you were eating, shouldn't even be called meat. Fast food burger joints are disgusting. They might taste great, but, that's about it. They lack anything of substance, and the substance they are filled with, will make you sick eventually. It's understandable that your body would transition to feeling healthy after you stopped eating crap. It's not the meat tho. It's all the other stuff you mentioned. And we are also talking about just a couple month period. |

You're right. I used the term vegetarian because these days I really enjoy eating fruit and vegetable, more than I used to. And anything containing meat really makes me sick. I wasn't like this before. But I hope my feelings last. Thanks,

I think you should go along with your new dietary leanings. Such an urge sounds like a gift to me. I recommend you accept the gift with open arms I would give my right hand to go off of junk food (sorry, been watching Family Guy's Empire Strikes Back parody).

Russianrocket makes a good point that it may not be all meat that you detest, perhaps it is just the unhealthy/greasy kinds. Have you tried eating other kinds of meat? On the other hand, though, if you have no desire to eat any meat and feel happy and healthy eating vegetarian, then go for it! I know that's what works for me! |

Thanks for your comments everyone. Quote:
And yes, meat is not the only thing that my body tends to dislike recently. Fast food and junk food are other things that seem to make me feel not so good lately.
