I'm starting a new morning routine starting on Monday and I'm wondering what would be the most healthy and effective way to do this. I'll be getting up at 8.00 and be starting work at 10.00 so I have 2 hours to do the following: Make and eat breakfast (about 20 minutes, depending on what I'm making) Exercise (about 30 minutes, at home so no travel time) Drink my coffee (about 10 minutes, non negotiable Shower (about 20 minutes, including brushing my hair, getting dressed etc) Any time I have left I don't know how to spend yet. Any advice on that is welcome... I was thinking first start with my coffee, to wake up, then exercise, making breakfast and then showering... Or, breakfast, waiting a bit, exercise and then showering and then coffee. Or..... What is the healthiest way to start my day? |

yeah, forum usage will be limited to after work hours (my work hours will be from 10.00 till 14.00, with a 15 minute snack break somewhere). Usually I'll be shopping for food and making lunch after, so most likely I won't be online before 16.00 |

2. Exercise. 3. Shower. 4. Eat breakfast + drink coffee. In my experience it is a very bad idea to eat right before you exercise, or to drink a lot of fluid right before you exercise, so I have to recommend exercising first. Also be sure to drink plenty of water as your body needs it in the morning, and I'm not sure if Coffee is the best way to hydrate yourself | |

I would definitely exercise before showering, since that way you can wash the sweat off from exercising. Eating is best after the shower, because you don't want a full belly while in the shower. However, I would drink a lot of water during the exercising. I usually don't feel like eating until I've been up a couple hours.

tnx. Plenty of water during and after exercise is a given. I always drink at least half a glass of water right when I wake up cause I'm thirsty, and most likely I'd drink another whole one during exercise (my glasses are about 500ml). I do think I'll go for the: water exercise shower breakfast coffee or maybe water exercise breakfast shower coffee the last variation might be more convenient because by the time I have eaten my breakfast, I have also stopped sweating.... Also, because I also have to see at what time my husband wants to have his breakfast so I can coordinate that... I'll start tomorrow and let you guys know what happens! |

You want to eat last. Your digestion will be disturbed if you shower, exercise or drink coffee after eating. You could drink coffee first. Then exercise and sweat. Then you shower and get off the sweat. Then you eat.
