Im 25 yrs old male and every since I turned 25 at the end of may last year, I been having problems with my sexual function and libido. went to a number of doctors who tested hormones and said I was fine and its all in my head. even with a testosterone level at low normal range. I have been impotent for 7 months now, and its affecting my life in all aspect. finally found a bhrt anti aging doctor who prescribed me bio identical testosterone cream to take at a small dose. I feel relief that I am finally getting to a solution. heres my question alot of people on other forums say that once you go on testosterone whether synthetic or bioidentical it kills fertility and causes your testicles to shut down & that I should not go on it at such a young age. I dont want to miss out on my 20s , but I also want to be able to have kids in the future, this situation is such a catch 22. are there any men on this forum on bhrt or hrt. |

Perhaps you might try a long supervised water fast before you go on T. Fasting is pretty miraculous in the long list of conditions it can cure. If it doesn't work give T a go. |

Tim Ferriss suggests in The 4-Hour Body that you should get yourself tested for vitamin D3 and selenium deficiency as both can lead to testosterone deficiency. His book goes into more detail about the how&why. |

Totally try some alternative things first. They might work. You need to look at the big picture here and going on the sort of drugs that might affect your long term health is surely a last resort and for people whose illnesses are life threatening. Not that I'm diminishing the effect this is having on your life, it's clearly a serious issue, but you're still walking around in good health and functioning right? I'd give yourself a year to trial different things, you can spare that for this, and if they work, then fantastic. If they don't, then you've tried haven't you? Also, exercise increases testosterone, so try working out alot. It might help. It balances your body and mind, so it can only help you generally. I've found that yoga helps with PMT and period pain. Honestly, I don't have it anymore. Not the same, I know, but it did balance out all my hormones and give my system a boost, so give it a try, it might help. I also agree with Andrew's comments about diet. Alot of people are overweight/grumpy/have other issues like osteoarthritis because of poor diet and lack of exercise. It affects all the systems in your body. Hope this is helpful and good luck.

Before you go on some synthetic hormone, try something natural first. Michael's has a good Testosterone boosting product. Testosterone Factors They guarantee their products if you use them three months according to the label. Its a good company. I would try something like this way before I went synthetic. Good luck. |

thats the thing im not walking around in good health, im impotent and my testicles and penis have shrunk so much , I assume because of lack of androgens. I tried different alternatives already , naturopath nutrition and supplementation for 3-4 months. lowering my estrogen and im still suffering from this. bioidentical I was told is way safer than synthetic hormones, but then I hear so many people opinions on the internet that make me question what to do.

I would recommend you to read the full chapter on testosterone increasing in Tim Ferriss 4-Hour Body. Additionally lowered testosterone is a symptom and it might be a good idea to search for a doctor who can diagnose the cause. |
