Default My 5th day of water fasting

Today is day 5 of my fast. I am proud of myself for not breaking it earlier because i definitely had the urge. I plan on going 10 days and then re-feeding myself on a vegetarian diet of mostly fruits and veggies. I feel pretty good although i have dropped some weight. I have alternating periods of fatigue and energy. Also my stomach is a bit on the turbulent side, I feel nauseous as certain points in the day and this forces me to sit down. Overall though I think I am doing pretty well and I am glad I have undertaken fasting.

Is this your first water fast? That might have something to do with your stomach turbulence.

On my first water fast, after 30 hours, I vomited. That's how toxic my body was.

That is not nice! I have been thinking of undertaking something similar but I don'y want to make myself ill!

I might just start off with a day or two and build up from there. Would you recommend that do you think???

Unhappy

I have not gone longer than three days. The nausea seems to be an issue with the longer fasts for me

During a fast your body does what is the very best for you, even if you judge it as being ill. When you are not on a fast you eat what you think makes your body healthy even if it is beer, bacon and jelly beans. Here is a webpage on fasting with quotes from 23 different MDs.

You're doing better than I did. I water-fasted for 5 days two months ago after being on a raw vegan diet for a year and I was feeling nauseous and having low energy the whole time. By the 5th day I couldn't even speak properly and was almost whispering. But if you read a few books on fasting you'll know that all that is normal. However you need to be resting a lot during this period. I read a book called "rational fasting" that recommended lying down for the whole time while fasting for the body to properly do what it's supposed to do....
