It is 3AM NY time and this section has 536 viewers!

I always look at how many people are at a section on this forum. Sometimes in the afternoon it can get up to just over 200 people on Health and Fitness. But now it says that it has 536 people/viewers. Is the counter broken? I have never seen it get over 250 people.

I look at this number everyday for years. It never goes over 250. At 9PM NY time it says 1,856 viewers. Is that correct? If this is correct then this section is now getting 10 times the traffic it has for the past 2 years.

If it's not you said that I would never look at the *number thing* probably in my whole life while I am in the forum You are living an interesting life *ginkgo*

Anyway, I think it's probably because the forum now has a variety of visitors from all over the world that *It is 3AM NY time and this section has 536 viewers!* can happen~ Like me is now checking the forum at 10:37am in Beijing time and now I am finished with my coffee so I think I am leaving now and hv a great day(?) or night(?) or life(to be safe^^) *ginkgo*

The counter is correct. There was a major traffic surge here today, hitting on a biphasic sleep post in the health forum. You can thank the social bookmarking site del.icio.us for it.

I guess a lot of people want to learn more about biphasic sleep.

That would explain it if they got a whole lot of international viewers. I am a numbers man and am very detail oriented. In fact Americans go nuts when you tell them that an ounce of silver weighs more than a ounce of lead and a pound of lead weighs more than a pound of silver. Oz of silver-- 31 grams. Oz of lead-- 28 grams. Pound of lead--16 ozs. Pound of silver-- 12 ozs.

Thanks. I had heard that Digg and Stumble Upon are the sites that can get you lots of traffic. I will tweet the post with byphasic sleep to see what happens.

I tweeted that thread. Also I signed up in delicious and tagged that thread to see if it helps. Some of these people should become regular viewers.
