Default I found out how to stay motivated to follow my diet!!!

My entire life, I have been struggling with my weight. But now, this time, I am decided to achieve my goal and my “perfect” body (when I say perfect, I talk perfect for me). This is how I already lost 15 pounds since the end of July 2010. I know have another 15 pounds to lose to be at my ideal body.

Is Your Goal Meaningless For Your Brain?

But this is not my point here. My point is that today I realized something extremely important. I realized that my goal “to lose 15 pounds” was meaningless for my brain and did not give me enough power and motivation. Lose 15 pounds isn’t the target that makes me stay motivated to follow my diet in the hard times.

But in the opposite, when I think about someone who has the body I would love to have, I can visualize it more easily and then, the motivation can be better. But it is not all.

What Is Your Daily Energy Level?

Thats great, how has the motivator been working out for you?

I found the opposite to be true for me, I stopped considering what everyone else looked like and just focused on doing my best.

Actually I stopped considering image completely, because image was part of my barriers. I sweated like a pig, I'm sure I stunk sometimes from all the workouts, but I just said eff it and went 100% and lost 100 pounds in what felt like a flash.

I've actually been more self-conscious lately for whatever reasons (I think its because my girlfriend is beautiful and I feel unworthy , jk, kinda) but I know I need to let go again and just do my best, kinda like your article, concentrating on being good daily and the results will come with discipline.

Yes, I totally understand you but when i talk about image, i talk about the image i have of myself. Because when you think about what people around you will think about you, in reality, i believe that you attribute to their judgment what YOU really think about you. So, i think, the first step is to keep your power by being aware of your image and what YOU like or don't like about you.

For this, I have done something that worked very well, i did autosuggestion. I repeated to myself over and over "the 1st january 2011 i will weight 105 pounds" and when i was doing it i was thinking of the image of the body i want. I do this while i'm walking my dog and believe me or not bu in 10 minutes i could feel in my body that i had the body i wanted. I felt what it was like to be thin and energized as i wanted.

This is i think because of the subconscious. If your subconscious still thinks that you are fat, it will be really hard for you to keep going because of all the bad thinking that comes. If i can give you an advice, the next time you think that people think that you are fat or that yourself think that you are fat, repeat inside of your head : "i weight x pounds " and imagine the body you want.

I think you have to program your brain again, but this is doable and you're on a good track!!

AND please, don't tell again that you don't feel worthy of your girlfriend. If she is with you it is certainly because she sees you more accurately than you are. That is to say a great guy!!

That's sound advice and I totally believe in it, those type of thought affirmations are really powerful. One thing that I struggle with is energy levels but I tell myself I'm energetic, or if I'm sleepy in the morning that I'm actually awake and refreshed and it usually works well.

I know my girlfriend genuinely loves me, and I am still getting over my self-image, but when you've been overweight for your entire life it is a lot of work to teach yourself that you have lost the weight, but thanks! I will be better.

I sleep well and eats lots of healthy food. I have plenty of energy. A celebrity was visiting France and she said that there is no concern there about healthy food. All they cared about was good tasting foods. So she ate lots of fruit.

You're absolutely right about France, this is really hard to find healthy foods in the restaurant!! Or if there is something, there is no choice...

For me, I eat following the plan of Dr Fuhrman and I have to say that it gives me so much energy that I will continue like that all my life :-)

So you found the healthiest diet on the planet and you are a nutritarian. Hundreds of MDs follow Dr Fuhrman's diet. The biggest chain of health food supermarkets here use his ANDI scale. Note the above is all from his latest book. He spent decades healing people of serious disease with fasting and change in diet.

So you must have a great blog. I will visit it and check it out. (I read the post below this one).

Does anyone else despise people who use these forums simply to advertise their latest blog post?

Seriously, you copy/pasted your entire post here from the beginning of your blog post, then just linked to it to get people onto your blog.

Idk about others, but this practice really annoys me. If you want to contribute something, do it. But don't come here just trying to grab traffic for your blog.

Curtis, I'm really sorry this annoys you, but i think this annoys you more to write about it like you did instead of leaving it alone. I would advise you not to put your focus on something you don't like.

Then, you can see that my article make me talk with people about the subject of my article (not what i'm doing now with you) and this is all i'm looking for.

Friendly,
Virginie

I also made a post recently with a link back to my blog, but it's because I'm looking for readers and criticism (Ginko has been a great critic :P) which has helped me refine my post, future posts, and hopefully write more effectively in the future. Also I'd rather reach out to a community who legitimately cares, and this is one of those places.

I understand a new thread shouldnt be a copy and paste from another article and then asking people to follow the link, but at least she is giving a quality discussion after and with your help might reconsider how she builds traffic, I just see it as a contribution to a great community, if its not breaking terms of the forum, and it does well for her, why do you care? If it doesnt fare well it will just get buried and if it does break terms then just remove the post and let her know its not acceptable.

Just my thoughts, sorry to shiny for hijacking your motivation post but he had a question and figured I'd give my (less experienced) opinion.
