Haven't been here in a while. So back in.. uh.. April/May, if I recall correctly, I fasted on water for 21 days and juice for 7 after that. Did it for health reasons, to heal my GI tract. I can't say it has really healed, at least the main issues I was hoping for. However, I did discover I have been able to eat gluten since the fast. Before the fast, if I accidentally ate a little, I'd be on the floor curled up in pain the next day. Now? I don't feel any worse than usual. I still have other allergies though and still have a lot of difficulties with the colon. So I'm thinking if I go till "true hunger" this time, my body will fully heal itself. Not sure I want too, it's getting cold again, and it would also mean no Thanksgiving.. but definitely glad I did the last one, and if more healing occurs, will be worth it. If I do it.. unlike last time, instead of an hour meditation, I'd be doing at least 5 a day. Maybe some light yoga, definitely some walking (ugh weather!), and pranayamas. Hmmm.. not sure if there was a point to this. Kind of thinking out loud (Giving an update too), but feedback is welcome.. since I'm posting here. |

The Christians have all of these mental reasons for fasting like if you are not sure about what to do next, that is a good time to fast (for internal guidance). If you are having some difficulty in life-- good time to fast. There are more but I am not an expert on this. It does save you a lot of money and time with not having to go shopping, preparing food, eating the food, cleaning up afterward and then sitting on the toilet to get rid of the waste. Fasting makes you colder but you can just dress like it is 10 degrees colder than what it is. |

Howdy ginkgo. Oh yeah I know, especially the "bathroom" part of it. Not having to deal with all the problems the unhealthy colon caused me, was one of the joys of the last water fast (usually spend a lot of time in it). Did save a lot of money too. The only thing I would have changed about doing the fast earlier in the year, would have been warm weather. I know more clothing can be worn, but still.. laying out in the sun during it would have been nice lol. |
