I have recently changed my sleeping pattern for a new job where I have to get up at around 5:30, whereas before I was regularly laying in until 14:00. However, I am struggling to get a good sleep and am averaging about 3 hours a night. It takes me ages to fall asleep and then I usually wake up after 3 hours and can't get back to sleep before I need to wake up. The sleep deprivation is greatly affecting me, how can I overcome this?

You need to go to sleep at 9:30 PM to get enough sleep but you are not tired enough at that time since you are used to going to sleep later. So you need to stay awake over 24 hours so at 9:30 the next day you fall right to sleep.
