Default Is it safe?

This question was in a poll-- Do you think it is safe or unsafe to lose weight fast? (Eating healthy just with reduced calories) What are your reasons for your answer? I have come across many asking about the body losing weight too fast.

This is like asking do you think that it is safe to vomit or have diarrhea. Or is it safe to have a bowel movement of 20 pounds? Is it safe for someone to sleep 24hours a day (coma). There are things that you control and things that you do not control. Of course I am not talking about taking drugs to make your body do something.

Your body does what is best for it and you do what you think to do. Now you can weigh how much food you eat. You control that. But you do not control how much your bowel movement weighs.

Another example is asking if it is safe to get hit by lightning. But that is not in your control, so the question makes no sense. Now you can ask is it safe to stand in a lightning storm holding a lightning rod and that is not a safe thing to do unless you are wearing a lightening suit.

How fast you lose weight is not up to you. It is up to her body. Beyonce lost 20 pounds in 10 days. Now one person could fast for 4 days and lose 15 pounds and another person (like me) can fast for 4 days and gain one pound. Now asking if either is safe makes no sense since the body decided that was the best for it. But you can discuss if it is safe to fast since that is in your control.

So you do not decide how much weight you lose. You can decide how much and what to eat. Another example. Is it safe to get cancer? That question makes no sense since it is not in your control. Now you can ask is it safe to live in a house with asbestos lying all over the house. That would not be a good idea.

You can ask do you think that it is safe to eat 0 calories a day for a week or eat 200 calories a say for a week. But how much fast you lose is up to the body not you. Beyonce lost that weight on a lemonade diet. So it was her decision to be on the lemonade diet, but she did not decide how fast the weight would come off. Her body decided that and as long as you do not take drugs, your body does what is best for itself.

You have a lot of different things that you want in your life. But the body just functions on survival instinct (survival of the individual and of the species).

Losing weight fast is not a problem if you do it naturally. Reducing calories without starving your self is a great way to lose weight. I suggest you google "Healthy desserts" and try a few as starters if your looking to lose weight.

Supplements are actually the dangerous part of weight loss. They unnaturally remove weight by making you "Forget" hunger. These can have some nasty side affects 2.

The reason you will gain weight by fasting is due to the way the body is built to run. Our ancestors used to go days without food, so there body would hold onto that fat so it would eat that and not muscle. Our bodies are still built like that.

Fasting is a dumb thing to do for any extended amount of time, because when you resume eating, it holds onto the fats.

1 more thing on losing weight. you will notice a long distance runner is always thin. This is due to how many calories they burn a day. If you run off all the calories you eat, you won't gain weight, you would lose it!

Note: I am 16 years old, so don't go by heart on what I say

I can usually control my diets to the extent of losing one to four lbs per week.

I lost about 45-50lbs in 3 months when I was 16.

I wouldn't recommend it as something healthy, although afterwards I was very glad to have lost the weight.

The only real issue was that in that time I wasn't doing any formal exercise or lifting weights, and so I lost a lot of muscle along with the fat.
