Default Study with 84,000 Women

A 26 years study with 84,000 women was done. "It found women who ate two servings of red meat per day had a 30 percent higher risk of developing coronary heart disease than those who ate half a serving per day." Note that red meat is meat that is not poultry.

Also it showed that nuts are better for cardiovascular health than fish. Fish lowered the risk of heart disease by 24% and nuts lowered the risk of heart disease by 30%. Although they may have used some tilapia that is a cheap fish, but not good for heart health due to ratio of omega-3 to omega-6.

Is there a link between red meat and heart disease? : Brownfield

Of course it is. And considering it's women, it's probably VERY well done, with that nice unhealthy burny taste to it lol.

If I recall correctly, the national something-or-other organization than gives "ideal" dietary guidelines for the United States government, says that the ideal diet is actually 100% vegetarian.

FDA or ADA? No one with half a brain listens to those biased fools anymore. I usually go the opposite route of what they suggest.

What are you talking about? It's the opposite in my family. All the men like well done, all the women like blood seeping out from the *grassfed* beef.

Grassfed beef has so much more omega-3s. Cows weren't meant to eat grain! Ruminants, hello? They are happier and look healthier and more "with it" when they eat grass, too.

Sorry, but you can't just isolate one dietary factor and show cause and effect. Maybe women who eat more red meat also like to eat more sugar than average, or maybe they eat fewer salads — who knows? Studies like this are worthless and prove nothing.

I notice that it takes a lot of motivation and focus to complete any goal involving weight loss or weight gain. If we could only see ourselves as we want to be, and not as we are, then we will be naturally motivated.

But what happens is we lose focus by worrying about how other people look and worrying about how fast result will come.

Better it happen late than never, so why do we stop ourselves by saying "it don't work" too early?

I became a vegetarian in Jan of this year.
I've never felt better. I go by the Eat For Your Blood Type Diet and I should be a Vegan.
I am thinking after this water fast I am on I will get into eating vegan raw foods.

I read that on Wikipedia somewhere where it was talking about some government organization's official recommendations.

Don't know what specifically it was talking about. But seeing as how there are tons of studies that talk about all the horrible things that consuming meat does to your body, I wouldn't doubt it.
