Red face How you control your desire to masturbate?

I know masturbation is a normal habit,but whenever I masturbate,I feel so tired and my motivation weaken.I feel so lazy to do my to do list.I don't want to quit from masturbating because I know it's also good for my health.I just want to decrease the frequency.So I set to only do it once per 4 days.I've been on this challenge for about a month but so far,I only manage once per 2 days.So I wanna know if any you ever face the same problem and how you control it?

Why don't you do it at night before bed? If it tires you out, then that seems like an ideal time to do it. Your body has time to recuperate afterwards!

Thanks Votoshka,but I used to pray before sleep,and I can't concentrate on my prayer coz I feel so bad concerning that I've done something that by lust.

Are you sure those symptoms are resulting from your masturbation? I'm not an expert (insert joke here), but I don't think masturbation normally inspires lethargy.

Is there something else that could be causing it?

OR, how about doing it in the shower? Do you normally feel energized after showering anyway?

I would defentiely look at when you do it until you figure out why it makes you so lethargic. After I do I feel relazed and blissful and often drift off to sleep which is why i dont do it when i have tons to get done. Although, it is fun to get yourself worked up a little then go tackle all of your duties, its like a different kind a foreplay and your reward for hard work is that sweet release.

But a thought Id like to bring to mind, is how you refer to it as an act of lust and dont feel comfortable doing it close to prayer. I dont know you or your relationship with the divine or your sexuality but it feels like there is some shame attached to it, that might be connected to the lathargy you feel afterwards.

There is no need to put energy into fighting it. No one that is 50 ever says the above. You made no mention of your age but I bet you are a teen or close to that age. It will run its couse.

Instead find things that you want to put your time into like sports. If you want to fight your life, you can fight your time watching TV, time spent playing video games, time spent drinking alcohol, time spent on the internet. Then what should you do with your time? That is what you should be looking for the answer to. See this webpage for more help with this 'problem' of masturbation. Understand the cause of it.

You need to release the energy a different way. Do you have any books on the subject? There are a few good ones, friends of mine have used them to learn how to control ejaculation to their advantage and good health.

Masturbation is not something that you HAVE to do, it is just a bad habit and like all bad habits it can be broken. Set your self a goal to only masturbate every second day i.e. on mon, wed, fri, sun etc.

Once you can do this, only masturbate every third day. Work your way up to only masturbating once a week. Also during this time DO NOT LOOK AT PORN.

Also make it a rule that you are not going to touch your penis, only touch your penis when you go to the toilet.

As soon as you touch your dick you set of an unconscious chain that practically guarantees that you are going to ejaculate

There is no problem with masturbation in moderation. It is when it becomes an everyday thing that it starts to have noticeable effects on your life. You could control your desire to masturbate by occupying your mind with other things, and going places with people.

There was a time in my teens when I was sort of addicted to masturbating. Not really, but once a day, sometimes twice. So I challenged myself to see how long I could go without masturbating whatsoever. I lasted 3 weeks. There were a couple of times when I almost broke, but I was saved by one of my friends and we went and did something, or I spent the night at his house. We used to get totally immersed in whatever we were doing at the time, be it Magic: The Gathering or trying to get on a professional yo-yo team. Very nonsexual stuff. But very intellectually stimulating.

I find that working on your goals and doing that first is probably a better approach, then using masturbation as a reward. It is a pleasurable experience, at least most of the time and could be a great motivator for achieving your goals. That would probably be the optimal approach. Just remember that moderation is the key to nearly everything...

Avoid thinking of any sexual fantasies whatsoever

What usually happened to me when I tried to stop is:
-I start thinking of fantasies
-I tell myself that I'l masturbate but not orgasm
-I end up orgasming

That usually happened until a week and 5 days ago me and 5 other friends organised a competition to see who could go without masturbating the longest. We each put in 5 euro into the competition which means the winner would get 25 euro

Yesterday I emerged the victor

Still have to get the money though

It was much easier not doing it in the competition, when there's more pressure.

You should organise one, they're really good fun!

Could you elaborate more on your problem? I masturbate when I feel the strong urge... It's fun, feels great, then I move on to other stuff. I've been bored enough to do it 1-3 times a day, it just loses it's fun that way though.

The only downsides for me are, if my tank is all empty and I have the opportunity for some real sex, that can suck, or if you do it too much and it loses the pleasure period. Those are the only potential problems for me. I usually prefer real sex, but I don't mind cranking one out if I'm alone and whatnot.
