I don't know why this is so. I looked for answers but couldn't find it. I really want to eat wheat bread because of healthy benefits like fiber, etc. If anyone knows how I can stop this reaction, please help, thanks

Try eating other kinds of bread. Sprouted wheat is actually much more nutritionally dense. Ezekial bread, for example. You also might have a gluten sensitivity. Or it could be completely psychological. I have no idea. Try eating gluten free bread and see if you have the same reaction. My son refuses to eat white or wheat bread. He will only eat sprouted grain or brown bread, I don't know why. I offer him wheat bread sometimes, he'll take a bite and look slightly grossed out and hand it back to me saying no thank you expectantly hoping for "his" bread. Lol. |

Am I the only one who has heard of Celiac diseae? What Is Celiac Disease? Celiac disease is a hereditary allergy to gluten that results in damage to the small intestine. Common symptoms include loose stools, fatigue, weight loss and generally poor health. However, symptoms can vary widely and include constipation, weight gain, and a skin condition called dermatitis herpetiformis. What Is Gluten? Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye. Gluten is responsible for the springiness and stretchiness of bread. Without it, bread turns out heavy and dense. Wheat is very unhealthy and is not a whole grain. |

| No, you are not the only one. I was tested for Celiac Disease back when I was 18. It's not as common as some people might like you to think, according to the gastroenterologist and nutritionist that I saw on a bimonthly basis for 3 years. But it is possible to have gluten sensitivity and NOT have celiac disease. That's probably more of an issue in the population than Celiac. |

The reason I don't think it's a gluten sensitivity is that these issues are usually evident through digestive disease. Your body actually has to try to digest the material before an actual physiological response to the allergy can occur. If OP is just gagging on bread when he puts it in his mouth, it probably isn't a food allergy because his body hasn't even had time to have an allergic reaction, since there is no allergen present in the digestive tract. In fact most of the time Celiac is diagnosed because of nutrient malabsorption issues. The reason I was tested was because I had idiopathic gastropareisis for 3 years - the muscles in my digestive tract stopped functioning and I suffered malnutrition as a result of being unable to take in nutrients. |

BUT...I don't know if you have that REAL rye/pumpernickel German bread in any produce markets near you...but it's actually even MORE beneficial than normal wheat bread and it tastes far better. Much more hearty, moist and juicy...in a good way. They're WAY smaller than the normal bread packages...more like a 5x5x2 package. (in inches)

I also hate eggplant. It's the only vegetable I can think of that I can hardly choke down. Makes no sense.

I get hiccups and sneeze when I first start eating most wheat flour based products. (at least that's when it's most obvious to me) I don't have gluten sensitivity. I am sensitive to artifical vitamin c. But it's weird.. I only do this to solid foods. Drinks and other stuff with artifical vitamin c don't cause me to react in such a way. But when I have a LOT of juices .. my lips start go bring pink and slightly swell |
