The best yoga for what you are looking for is Bikram's Hot Yoga. The sequence of postures is patented so you will not find it on a website but you can get the book by Bikram himself for less than $14. Amazon.com: Bikram's Beginning Yoga Class

Default No book necessary

Hatha yoga is the style most acknowledged for benefiting the physique, and you can get plenty of free lessons online.

My favourite dvd so far is Kundalini yoga to detox and destress by Maya Finnes. Amazon.com: Kundalini Yoga to Detox and Destress with Maya Fiennes: Maya Fiennes, Mike Connelly: Movies & TV

It's got a lot of meditation thrown in and feels much more calming than other yogas I have done, but you do definitely break a sweat and get a workout, but if you primarily want flexibility and weight loss it might not be the best one (though it will do those two things too, but possibly slower than a pure stretching/poses yoga workout ?).

A guy I adore is Alejandro Maldonado, if you speak Spanish I recommend trying him out. He has a youtube channel with his videos from tv uploaded, they only last about 6 mins and he often uses a chair as a prop .. if you're into guys a cool bonus is he's very fit and does his workouts topless
YouTube - yogarespiraprofundo's Channel

...

A while back somebody posted a link on this site to a yoga website that has a free yoga lesson uploaded each week, I think it's around an hour long (?) but can't find the link in my favourites, if you're willing to search the site you should find it somewhere!

I've tried books in the past but they don't work AT ALL for me.

hahaha, so many styles. I like Iyengar Yoga. BKS Iyengar has a huge book called..YOGA.

Yoga Zone is on hulu, I think. They do these short 20 minute workouts that are great for beginners. I think, anyways. No chanting or anything. I'm not into the chanting so much.
