1. Your Gender

Female

2. Your BMI

26.1 but I was at 30 in September when I started thinking about my weight.

1. Do you think it is safe or unsafe to be thin and what are your reasons?

I feel that as long as you feel healthy and have no weight related illness then being thin is not too problematic. Being naturally thin is not the problem, the problem is when people start to become consumed by issues of weight and dieting because they wish to become thin to fit to a stereotype of the ideal figure.

2. Do you think it is / would be comforting and relaxing or stressful and anxiety-producing to be thin? What are your reasons for your answer?

Sometimes I feel that being thinner could allow life to be less stressful although I think it is important to feel comfortable whatever size or shape you are. Two months ago I began reducing my food portions, eating healthier foods and doing 1 hour of exercise per day and since then I have found I have more energy and feel much more comfortable with myself.

3. Do you think it is/would be easy or uneasy to maintain being thin? What are your reasons for your answer?

I think some people do just have an easier time maintaining their weight due to body shape and genetics to some extent. Those who are naturally quite slender may be that way because their body shape is an athletic build whereas another person may be the kind who is naturally stocky. Both of these people should try to keep healthy but the naturally stocky built person will always have to do a little bit more to get to this ideal of 'thinness' if ever.

4. Do you think it is/would be pleasurable and rewarding or unpleasant and punishing to be thin? (Thin with a healthy diet) What are your reasons for your answer?

My motivations for starting my new diet and exercise plan included the possibility of being able to buy nicer clothing, to look better and to be generally healthier. I think all of these things will be pleasurable when they occur for me, I will have a feeling of success when I achieve a slimmer body thus I feel that there must be some pleasure from becoming thinner.
I think that it is perhaps more rewarding for someone who becomes thin through their lifestyle; diet and exercise than it would be for someone who is naturally slim because part of the satisfaction would be to have had control over your body.

5. Do you think it is safe or unsafe to lose weight fast? (Eating healthy just with reduced calories) What are your reasons for your answer?

It depends how fast the weight is being lost and the starting weight of the person in question. I believe in the idea that 1-2lbs per week is a safe range, cutting down portions is not a bad thing as long as you're eating enough and regularly. In my opinion weight loss is very subjective and the healthy rate of loss will vary between each person and as long as people are not starving themselves to lose the weight, which is futile in the long term, then there is no real problem.

6. Do you think eating lots of (overeating) tasty food is pleasant or unpleasant? What are your reasons for your answer?

I used to feel that I was pleased with eating a lot of food in general regardless of how it tasted and I never really tasted my food because I just shovelled it in. Recently I have begun to appreciate that food is to be enjoyed but in moderation. I find that overeating now is not a pleasant experience, not only does my stomach feel too full but I remember how much exercise I would need to do to work it off.

Actually you cannot force the body to lose weight too fast. It is in control of that not you.

Answers to these questions:

1. I am rather thin, being 16 years old and 5'6. I do alot of muscle building (Reason my BMI is raising lately) so I wouldn't count BMI for to much. Thin and wide really depend on eating habits, exercise, age, and body type.

2. It is kind of the person who chooses this. I enjoy being thin, it allows my core to show greatly and definitely makes toning muscles easier.

3. It is in your head if you think it is hard to maintain weight. It all depends on eating habits and exercise.

4. Well it actually depends on what you do for exercises. like a long distance runner will be thin due to calorie burning well a sprinter will be strong and not appear thin due to muscle mass.

5. It is safe. If your naturally losing weight with out any supplements and not starving your self, your good.

6. Of course it is pleasant, but I suggest you look for alternatives that are tasty and healthy.
