Hi guys! How are you? This is my forst post here I have decided to do a 7 day water fast. So here is my story: I have been a binge/ emotional/ compulsive eater for 2 years. A year ago I became a vegetarian, but unfortunately it didn't change my eating habits. Even though I wanted that things change, I kept bingeing and became even more depressed. I thought that there is no solution to my problem and will have to live like this for the rest of my life. I felt miserable, but my inner voice kept telling me not to give up. So I did a research and found out about raw food and how it has changed many people lives. This spring I went on a 13 day juice fast..and I have to say - that was the most amazing thing I have ever done to myself. Summer came and I decided to try raw foods. WOW!!! It was amazing! Within each day I felt better and better, I felt happier, I had more energy, my mind became clear, I tried new healthy recipes and really loved this idea of living foods. But the most important thing - I wasn't addicted to food anymore. I felt free...until last week. So..last week I went to a party and saw ''Pringles'' there. I usddenly felt this incredibly strong urge to try them...and I did. Unfortunately it pulled me back into my old eating habits and for the past week I have been bingeing on really crappy food. I feel bad both physically and emotionally. I have never felt so bad in my whole life. All my body is in pain, I feel exhausted and have no energy at all. I can't think clear anymore. Why am I doing this to myself? I need to stop this mess. So that's why I have decided to go on a water fast - to proove myself that I can do that, to detoxify my body, to jump back in raw food (or high raw food) diet and hopefully to quit smoking. The fast starts now, as from this moment and will last 7 days (until the evening of next friday, august 20). Most likely I will break it on saturday morning though. I will complete this fast no matter what. Guys, have a great morning, day or evening (depends on where you live) |

Here is my webpage about fasting with lots of free information. I have picked the very best info from many books. It tells about what the possible problems are. It has quotes from 23 MDs. Once I told a woman that I had a webpage on fasting and she said "but isn't fasting bad for you." I said that the page has quotes from 23 MDs. So she said OK then it must be good for you.

Thanks, ginkgo! the page is very useful. Day 1 Day 1 went pretty fast, I kept myself busy. As the weather was nice I was quite active during the day and did a lot of walking. In the evening I felt a little bit tired and got a headache but it immediately went away as soon as I drank some more water. Anyway..nothing special to report. I had some thoughts about food but nothing major, they dissapeared quickly. I just reminded myself that I'm on a fast and the only thing I'm having is water. I had about 3 liters of water in total. My starting weight was 132.3 lbs |

Hey BlackPirate I encourage you to keep at the fast. Don't see that box of Pringles as a bad thing, it was a great gift and the ensuing binging on crappy food and how crappy you felt means that you will never look at a simple box of Pringles in the same way - which in fact is a gift to you. One week of crappy eating has propelled you to embark again on a healthier route. Okay some may say the water fast is a bit severe but at least you are taking responsibility over what you eat and that's a great start. Remember this is a lifestyle change so don't be too strict about clock and calander time. Take water until your body feels ready for some raw food...that doesn't matter whether it's 3 days and 21 hours or 10 days and 10 minutes - listen to your own body. Oh and keep posting :-) |
