Default I started running/jogging with one of my friends

I just want some information about wether running is a good exercise for keeping healthy/fit and also getting some muscles on my chest or do we HAVE to go to the gym and workout like crazy? and if so how many times a week should we run and for how long?

Muscles on your chest from running? Not happening. You need to go to the gym at least twice per week.

Running is going to be good for conditioning the cardiovascular system and that in itself obviously has some great health benefits.

Also, as long as your diet is in check, running burns calories which in turn will help you reduce bodyfat. People with lower bodyfat always look to have bigger, fuller muscles.

But, as RomanHD if you want to build muscle properly, you need to be resistance training on a regular basis. Check out this routine, it's solid - Hypertrophy Cluster Training - HCT-12 | Wannabebig

If you want to get muscles on your chest then you need to work out your chest. Running won't do that.
