ginkgo has a spectacular aura aboutginkgo has a spectacular aura about
Default Which Has More Protein, Nuts & Seeds or Meat & Fish

It is easy to pick one and you have a 50% chance of being right. But can you give an example? I mean by weight or more specifically the one that is more protein dense. Or pound to pound.

More protein by what? Weight? Calorie? Serving? Item? I'm pretty sure an ox has more protein than a cashew nut.

By calorie, meat and fish DO have more protein than nuts and seeds (which are mainly fat). But greens, on the other hand, have way more protein than meat by weight.

Oh yeah? you sure about that? Which greens are you referring to? A lb of chicken has about 133 grams of protein. How much does lettuce have in a lb? 7 grams.

She did say by calories, not by weight.

Do nuts and seeds by have more protein by weight? Just curious.

She said greens have more protein by weight. I showed her they they don't have more protein by weight.

Nuts and seeds are pretty close, but it all depends on which ones you are talking about.

Kale, although 'by weight' was a mistake. I meant to say 'by calorie'.

kale by weight is 14 grams per lb vs 133 grams per lb in chicken, and more in other meats. If you want per calorie,

6 grams of protein per 100 calories for kale
18 grams of protein per 100 calories of chicken.

lol where are you getting your numbers?

oh and I'm still going with MEAT as being the highest protein source. Ostrich meat in particular. Prove me wrong.

According to this website low sodium parmesan cheese is the highest, followed by mature beans, then it has lean veal and beef, then it has seeds, then it has lean meats. According to this website the other meats are higher in protein than ostrich meat. So seeds would have more protein than ostrich meat but maybe not beef.

If we are talking about foods that have to be created, then I'm going with ostrich jerky, which has more 9% more protein then that cheese.

It's not only about protein content, it's also about bioavailability and amino acid profile.

To get 41 grams of protein from that cheese you would also be consuming 30gr fat.

The beans are 40gr protein, 22gr fat.

The veal is 36gr protein, 6gr fat.

Lean meat is 30gr protein, 5gr fat.

Fish is 30gr protein, 1gr fat.

Egg whites are probably 30gr protein, 0gr fat.

In that sense fish and egg whites is the most "pure protein" food. This is helpful if you want high protein without high fat. Or if you want fat from a different source.
