Excellent news story although I do now see how she is going to get enough antibiotics and growth hormones that are given to animals. Right now I am eating my raw kale that I got from Whole Foods. That stuff tastes really great. Actually bodybuilders do not need much extra protein in their diet. This site says: The Colgan Institute of Nutritional Sciences (located in San Diego, CA) run by Dr Michael Colgan PHD, a leading sport nutritionist explains that in his extensive experience, the most muscle gain he or any of his colleagues have recorded over a year was 18 1/4 lbs. Dr Colgan goes on to state that "because of the limiting rate of turnover in the muscle cells it is impossible to grow more than an ounce of new muscle each day."On the other hand muscle burns calories 24 hours a day so for every pound of muscle-- A pound of extra muscle burns an extra 40 calories per day according to Wockhardt Hospital and Mass Builders Newsletter, June 1998. So that means that she needs a lot of extra calories. She can get them from carbs or fat. Dr Sears suggests getting the extra from fat since it has more calories than carbs and requires no insulin to digest. Many gorillas eat no meat and yet they are as strong as an ox or a gorilla. |
