| Throughout my childhood and into my mid-20s I struggled with recurrent sinus infections. I was on antibiotics for a good chunk of my high school days and it severely impacted my health, energy levels, etc. Now, thanks to a lot of changes (the primary one being eliminating almost all dairy from my diet) I'm largely free of this. However, I'm not quite all the way there. I still have some "stuffiness" and I noticed after I do my morning breathing exercise that I get some buzzing in my sinus area that seems to indicate that there is still some stuff lingering there. I'd love to kill this once and for all but not sure what the best next steps are. My diet is getting real solid and I'm generally taking good care of myself (exercise, meditation, etc.). I've tried netipot and something called the Grossan irrigator in the past and may pick them up again. Other than that I'm not sure what else I can do...and definitely don't want (let alone need) to do any drugs, nasal sprays, surgery, etc. Any suggestions?

| I use one of those baby nasal irrigators when I'm feeling sick. I got the idea when hearing about the netti pot. Anyways, do you just use regular water or do you add some salt to it? The salt helps. Some people also like using baking soda to change the ph or something. |

| You can try a 3% solution of Hydrogen Peroxide in your ears! It kills infection and clears sinus problems. I thought it was a really strange idea when it was first suggested to me. However it is great. Overnight it significantly cleared my blocked sinuses, repeated again the following evening made another dramatic improvement. So much better than taking antibiotics, or sinus medication that just dries everything out. I got mine from a local chemist and it was only 78p for a huge bottle of hydrogen peroxide and £1 for a dropper! http://www.mercola.com/2002/mar/27/h...n_peroxide.htm Came home, dripped Acid in my ears, watched TV « Energy Spinning

| If you feel like you may have a touch of infection, the italian herbs are wonderful! Oh, and they taste good, too lol The cool thing about the herbs is there's no bacterial resistance to them, and they don't harm/weaken your body and immune system like antibiotics can do. There's also a technique osteopathic physicians can do--and teach you--to open your sinuses in just a couple of minutes. Very gentle, no pain. Might be worth looking in to. |

| Do you (or does anyone else) know anything more about this. That sounds like something I'd like to try!

| Are you having "chronic hypertrophic rhinitis"? There are several different types of sinus infections, and each type needs to be treated differently. If you got "chronic hypertrophic rhinitis", surgery may be the best way. If not, I think taking some immune support supplements like medicinal mushrooms (Agaricus Blazei Mushroom, Turkey Tail Mushrooms, Cordyceps Sinensis) and Sea Cucumber may help. They will boost your immune system and protect you from getting any kinds of infections without any side affects. Also Chinese medicine and Acupuncture may be something to be considered if you still can not get it under control. Finally I would suggest that you always double check with a real doctor about what to take for treatment and not directly try out things you found on the internet. |
