As a women with heavy periods, I tend to be anemic. I eat chocolate beans to bring my blood counts up. It is working much better than iron supplements. Iron supplements give me headache and bloating. Iron supplements can be dangerous if you overdose. Chocolate is perfect, body takes only as much as it needs, and no side effects.

I'd read another article on that here: http://www.mercola.com/2007/mar/27/e...penicillin.htm The best chocolate I've come across is "Dolfin Chocolat Noir 88% De Cacao". Somehow even at 88% dark it's still sweeter than many with less cocoa. (I don't personally profit from any of the sales links I post, it's just stuff that I like.) Dolfin Belgian Chocolate - Order Dolfin Chocolate Online from Chocosphere I may have to check out raw cacao nibs as well. |

Great info in this thread! I didn't realize that about chocolate being iron-rich. I tend to be anemic, so that's good to know. I love dark chocolate! But I have cut way down on sugar, so I buy organic cocoa powder from the health food store and sweeten it with Stevia. Yum!
