Sometime ago I read some article linked on these forums about being unreasonably happy. Decided to try it out with EFT using the phrase "I'm unreasonably happy" while doing two rounds of tapping and yep, it worked. In fact I'll try that out again now..
thanks andy,

I guess i need to read up on it beyond those videos, but its seemed like they were 'tapping out of your system' the bad feelings "although i have this feeling...i deeply accept myself" .......so wouldn't you be 'tapping out' the good feeling?

*shrug* I'm not really sure why it works like that...it's just that I was curious, tried it that way, and it worked. Though for positive emotions it's not as if I focus on a positive emotion and tap on it, instead I use a statement that would result in the positive emotion, like "I choose to be happy". Perhaps the tapping removes any resistance to the statement so it's easy to take hold if you want it to?

There is only one thing to do, try "postive" tapping and see if it helps! Why not?

Okay, I have a query. Recently I have been tapping for my shyness (now that I'm not drinking anymore, I have nothing else to do on my weekends, so I want to establish a social life, but I'm so timid ...). Anyway, although I have been working on the shyness thing, I had an interesting experience a couple of days ago: I woke up and discovered that the anger that I have been carrying around in my heart against my parents - and we are talking decades of burning, corrosive hatred here - has vanished!!!! Simply gone, kaput, just like that.

How can this be? Oh, I'm not complaining. Gift horse and all that. But the thing is, I wasn't tapping about my family issues. I was tapping for something completely unrelated.

So, does EFT have a spillover effect like that, sometimes?

In one of the videos on tapping.com, he does EFT for waking up in the morning. First you tap out the tired feeling in the morning and then you are to continue until you can see yourself jump out of bed in the morning. (I don't know if it works because I haven't had enough time to spend to get to that point).

Oh yes - it's called Borrowing Benefits. Not sure how it works but it's fab that it does. I've heard Gary joke that if you get benefits that you weren't tapping for then you have to give them back!

Wow, thanks for the link. I tried using the free ebook from emofree, but I found it such a hassle to understand.

I mean, wow. I jsut spent a half hour doing the self-acceptance video and I feel like someone has taken a weighted vest off my shoulders. Amazing what a little tapping can do

I am a HUGE proponent of EFT.

My background story: about 3 months ago, my boyfriend killed himself. I wanted to kill myself, too. I didn't eat, I couldn't sleep. I had obsessive thoughts. I honestly don't know how I survived.

Two weeks after my boyfriend's death, I went to a therapist who specializes in EFT. After a 2 hour session, where we aggressively tapped on several different angles of guilt, I was finally able to eat and go to sleep that night.

Since then, I've done other issues. Usually, the main effects of the EFT don't hit me for at least 2-3 days. Some didn't hit for a few weeks. It's a very individualized thing.

EFT is not a cure-all. I also take a natural supplement of lithium, and fish oil, as well as do some traditional talk therapy and go to support groups. However, I am sure that my speedy recovery is at least 50% thanks to EFT.

Observing people in my support groups (both in person and online), my recovery has been pretty astounding in speed and depth. And many others take drugs, go to individual therapy, and obviously go to support groups. The main component that separates me from others: EFT.
