Default Requesting two buddies for a fifteen-day trial

I thought thirty days may be a bit too much for this, so I chose fifteen to start off with.

Choose anything you'd like to do (or maybe give up) for the next fifteen days. Personally I'm going to do a fifteen-day trial on a vegan diet (a continuation of an earlier trial).

What I want is two other people from this site who also want to do something for the next fifteen days, and are willing to - every day - log in and just ask the other two via PM if we stuck to our thing. So I'm really just asking for a few seconds of your time every day.

Same applies to me. I'll log in every day and ask if you stuck to your promise.

I thought by private messaging it could be easier to keep our motivation up.

Your goal can be anything you want, but a health goal would be great. This could be a good thing to do if you want to try something difficult, since it's easy to create a supportive atmosphere in a trio.

If anyone is interested in this at all, I'll take the first two who can think of something they want to do.

hmmm....I'll do two things...first of all, I have a tendency to back slide on one thing when I focus on another, so I'm including sticking to my fruitarianism 100%.
Ok, new thing to incorporate...doubling my workout and meditation time...although I'm not quite sure where to include yoga in that. Oh well, It's a new category I guess.
As you can probably tell, I haven't been really systematic, so this will be great for that

Why PM? Just post it in a thread on here. That's what some us of have done with good results.

I'm in. I will give up wine and chocolate (they are connected! in my case) and will walk every second day on my treadmill! You still want to do the PM"s or is posting OK?

Sure, come to think of it posting it on here is OK, as long as secrets0stolen is fine with that as well. OK, so as I understand it we have:

secrets0stolen: fruitarianism, doubling workout and meditation time (to how long?)

marinik: giving up wine and chocolate, walking every second day on the treadmill

all that correct?

and me: strictly vegan diet, no junk food

Yeah, posting is good
meditation: original: 20-30 min; goal: 40-60 min
workout: original: 30 min; goal: 60 min
yoga: original: 15 min; goal: 30 min

I think I'll be switching from my diet being "if it's fruit it's okay, anytime, any combo" to mono-meals.

Found a good "form" on another site that could be a good tool for checking in:
Food:
Exercise:
How you're felling:

Would you mind running a parallel thread for that? It sort of takes away the point if there's too many people in the same thread reporting on their trials. Diffusion of responsibility and all that.

You'll find other people who'll do it, I promise. Heck, I'll do another trial with you at some point if you want.

Sounds good, secrets0stolen, I'm going to go ahead and use that form (slightly modified in my case). Whenever all three have posted this for the first time, we'll count that as the first day.

Day 1

Food: Yes, stuck to my intended diet. Fruit and veg, and some cereal.

How you're felling: Great. This is a good start.

Things you're grateful for: My two new trial buddies and stevepavlina.com [I personally removed 'four' so I don't have to think of four things every time]

I gave up food 14 days ago, just doing water so far some times I don't drink it for 3 days.

Food:
I am starting today. Yesterday I came home after 15 hours at work and gave into pure hedonism but only 1,5 glass of wine a 3-4 bites of dark, dark chocolate.
Exercise: Starting this today too. It is a beautiful day outside, my treadmill is dying so I can and walk outside. I hope Spring stays!
How you're felling: Not very good about myself. Have to go back to "the old healthy ways!"
Four things you're grateful for: I am grateful for you Eric for starting this thread , for my 2 doctors yesterday, and I am grateful it is Saturday!

Default Day 2

Day 2
Food: No chocolate! but had 2 glasses of wine but just for lunch. When I drink it with dinner I tend to overeat and eat a lot of chocolate. It is my moms birthday but will try to be good!
Exercise: I did my walk! and felt great!
How you're felling: Feel good! And even if I have an odd glass of wine now and then on weekends would be even healthy when you look at the French. But just not in the evenings when I come home stressed and tired from work.
Four things you're grateful for: I am grateful for this beautiful morning, the great time I had with my friends yesterday, the abundance in my life and my crazy little dog!

Default Day 2

Awesome.

Food: Went well. Lots of fruit and cereal again, but also baked beans and some vitamins today.

How you're felling: A little tired from bad quality sleep, but that has nothing to do with the diet.

Four (alrighty then) things I'm grateful for: I don't have a bald patch yet, my phone still works, oxygen abounds and my taps still deliver hot water!.

Default Day 2

Food: fruit, although I didn't eat all mono meals: fruit salad at a church picnic(darn you mom and dad and your guilt-inducing ways ) and some dressing on my tomatoes.

Exercise: walked for 60 min
haven't done my yoga or meditation yet but I'm about to

How I'm feeling: frustrated for reasons not related to this challenge, but I'm getting over it. Good about this challenge though (even though I kinda slacked today), I don't usually do things this methodically and it's good for me to experience the other side.

Four things I'm grateful for: really soft grass, music, fresh air, and forests

Hmmm, methinks you missed the point as to why it's 30 days and not some other amount of time.

The logic behind it was that it takes 28 days to make or break a habit.

Default Day 5

marinik: no chocolate, no wine. You're sticking to your thing.

secrets0stolen: stuck to your 100% fruitarian diet again! My buddies are keeping their promises.

As for me:

Food: I have to admit I overate cereals with yoghurt today, and I shouldn't have done that. On the other hand this is at least fits within the bounds of a fairly healthy vegeterian diet, so it isn't the end of the world. But no excuses tommorrow! I shall keep my promise!

How I'm feeling: not too great about overeating, but overall I've been worse.

Four things I'm grateful for: that my lungs, heart, kidneys and liver keep doing such a fine job without me having to pay attention to them.

I highly doubt that's some kind of universal law, but even if it is, my aim here isn't necessarily to break a habit. My aim is to try this diet out for fifteen days, and after that leave all options on the table.

No worries, I guess you actually needed more support than I gave you. Stick to your diet!

How I'm feeling: quite good actually
