Default Raw food resources

Thinking about moving strongly in the direction of more raw foods. Probably not purely raw but maybe 80-90%. I wanted to see what people recommend in terms of good books, websites, recipes, etc.

I would recommend in favor of a raw diet consisting of mostly fruits and vegetables, and allowing no more than 10% max to come from overt fats. I'd recommend Dr. Doug Graham's book, "The 80/10/10 Diet"

He has a website, Dr. Douglas Graham, Optimal Nutrition and Sports Performance

and a forum that he regularly gives advice on, VegSource.com

I more or less follow his suggested diet, which advocates a diet of about 80% carbs, 10% protein, and a max of 10% fat.

Many of the popular raw diets suggest extremely high intake of nuts/seeds/avocados, which are high in fat, and have been shown to bring on diabetes, heart disease, etc; ironically, they find themselves suffering from the diseases which they never suffered from as healthy cooked vegans.

Best of luck,
Andrew

Raw food UK with raw food events, journals and inspiration is really interesting - as is her site Detox Your World

I bought some raw maca powder - but haven't been able to bring myself to eat it yet - not all raw food is nice!

raw cocoa nibs on the other hand are delicious!

Maca powder is great! I haven't tried it straight but it adds a great taste to smoothies...kinda malty.
