Default Simple ways to improve your diet?

Hello everyone,

In my college speech class we have been asked to give an informative speech, and I decided I would give mine on "Simple Ways to Improve your Diet" because I wanted my topic to be relevant/practical. First off, I'd like to say I do enjoy this forum and I am learning a lot all the time. So do you have any suggestions or some nice (scholarly) websites that I could check out?

Thanks for all your help!

Cut out any obvious health drainers like sugar, processed meat, excessive fat and salt and replace them with healthier substitute. It's just like tidying a messy room. You get rid of all the big objects first which nomally takes 10 minutes. Then the bedroom looks great, but to make it look perfect you have to spend a couple of hours scrubbing away and making it spotless.

Good analogy huh?

I'd say the simplest way is to eat things in their most natural state. The more something has been processed the less healthy it is for you. It's interesting how there's pretty much an inverse correlation between how fancy something is packaged at the grocery store and how good it is for you...

Excellent advice. I drink a cup of carrot juice once a day (I use a juicer) which helps me to get my 5+ servings of vegetables & fruits a day.
