Default Too much REM sleep

YouTube - Too much REM sleep: why do depressed people wake up exhausted?

It's interesting to think about what he says and how most polyphasic sleepers seem to think the goal is as much REM sleep as possible. Perhaps the disbalance is only bad in depressed people to begin with?

Thanks for posting the URL. I visited the site and found his presentation very interesting. I shall explore it in more depth later.

I think that the depressed people need more REM sleep. REM sleep is good for you. Some people need to sleep 24 hours a day. Do you know what that is called? It is called a coma.

What they are saying is like saying that it is not healthy to be in a coma. But they need it. It is the best thing for their health. You will never ever sleep longer than you need to. Why do I say that. Because it is not in their control but the control of the body. If someone is depressed because they are deficient in B vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids, the deficiency can also cause other problems like not sleeping right and feeling exhausted.

I love dreaming (REM sleep). It is so great. I can do the impossible. I can fly like Superman. I can move things with my mind like the Jedi Masters. I am immortal. Nothing can hurt me. Now is someone going to quote me and say "Ginkgo says 'I can fly like Superman' " out of context?

They said in the media how this famous actress said in an interview "When it comes to anything with balls, I suck!" They were talking about playing sports.
