| Hello Everyone... Just found this site, accidentally. I love it. Great to see people helping people. Anyway, I was diagnosed with M.S. in 2003 and have been taking Copaxone medicine since then. My condition seems to have been developing since. I went from an educated, dancing, full time, professional to a retired, self employed, 29 year old, mother of a 5 month old with a walker. Lately I've been reading up on natural treatments and the effects of mercury poison on M.S. I'm curious if anyone has insight on this topic, either through personal experience or otherwise. All replies are appreciated greatly... |

| I've heard of good results with EFT. Have a look at this, and this. The second case I contacted myself, because I was amazed. Yes she truly had gotten her symptoms down. She moved on to doing EFT with a practitioner to get more benefit. Have a go! You've got nothing to lose but your walker! You can download a pdf file from the emofree website, or I have a shorter one available from my homepage. Much joy to you Hazel

| Another thing you absolutely want to avoid is sugary products/drinks or refined sugar. An elevated blood sugar could likely hurt your nerve cell even more. ( excessive consumption of sugar has been linked to increase risk of MS ) In addition to Methylcobalamin, Risotriene , you may also consider Fish oil ( EPA and DHA ) or Cod liver oil ( again EPA/DHA + vitamin A & D ). Anything to do with relaxation of mind ( such as EFT, spiritual approach suggested above ) would be greatly beneficial. Good luck and have a speedy recovery .

| While there is no single cure for MS, there are a number of factors that are involved in affecting or, more importantly, reducing symptoms of the condition. Below are a few worth considering...this may be information you know or that has already been covered, but redundancy is a good thing...a way to emphasize a point, eh? Food allergies: Typically our immune system ingores foreign proteins found in food but occasionally our bodies react to these these proteins as if they are harmful = food allergies. MS is an autoimmune disease. For some reason, in autoimmune disease, our immune system is recognizing our own tissue (in the case of MS, the myelin sheath that surrounds/protects our nerves) as foreign and builds a defense against this "foreign" protein. In some cases of MS, this can be triggered by a response to a food allergies. Typical food allergies include wheat, gluten (a protein found in several grains, including wheat), soy and corn...but there are many others. It can be helpful to identify any possible food allergies and eliminate the offending food from your diet. An elimination diet (eating a hypoallergenic diet for two weeks and then adding in foods of concern on at a time to see if symtoms get worse - similar to the principle of introducing food to a baby) is the best way to identify food allergies. A good, whole-foods based nutritionist can help you with that. Vitamin D: Low levels of vitamin D have been linked to several neurological diseases including MS. As a matter of fact, the prevalence of MS is higher the farther you get from the equator because of our bodies inability to produce vitamin D when exposed to sunshine between approximately October to March (depending on your latitude). So, make sure you get enough sun exposure between during the spring and summer (remember, sunscreen blocks the UV rays necessary for us to produce vitamin D). During the fall and winter months a good vitamin D supplement is essential. Cod liver oil alone may not contain enough vitamin D. Given your condition, it may be a good idea to regularly check your vitamin D levels...just a simple blood test. Omega-3 fatty acids: Via a marine source (EPA and DHA)..a high quality fish oil, among other benefits, helps reduce inflammation and may greatly aid in reducing symptoms. Vitamin B12: Many people with MS are found to have a deficiency in vitamin B12. We don't know why this is...it could be because these people have a hard time digesting/absorbing it, it may be they need more, it may be they consume more...we don't know the reason yet. Therefore, taking a B12 supplement is a really good idea but to ensure absorption, I would recommend taking a sublinginal (under the tongue) supplement of methycobalamin. Antioxidants: Vitamin A, C, E and many of the phytonutrients (all found in abundance in veggies, fruit and nuts, legumes) help fight pro-oxidation that can cause inflammation and other damage. A good, healthy diet: Lots of veggies, lots. And fruit and nuts. Adequate amount of protein - fish, eggs, chicken, beans. And healthy fats - coconut oil, olive oil, avocado (yum!), nuts....you know the old saying, "the best defense is a good offense" Diet is the best offense to promoting health! Relaxation techniques, EFT, anything to help promote self-healing is a positive venture. Hang in there, think well of yourself, and continue to seek health. I am wishing you all good things.
