Now I am not going to ask you to invest 29 minutes of your time to see what you think of it. This is something that everyone needs to watch learn. If anyone disagrees with anything in this video then speak up but I do not think that will happen. This is a U of CA educational video. This video will greatly reduce the number of people getting cancer. The video is to teach that the levels of vitamin D that are suggested is enough for you to avoid rickets and bone density problems. But it is not nearly enough to prevent you from getting cancer and to prevent the flu that appears to be very fluid. Flu is short for influenza since it is caused by the influence of the stars (astrology). It explains how much vitamin D that you need to get. Also cod liver oil has a lot of it but explains why the vitamin A in it limits your vitamin D from it. Note-- stop the presses is an old expression for stopping the newspaper printing presses so they can add a new story that is very important. YouTube - Vitamin D Prevents Cancer: Is It True? I need to look up Dr Christine. I never heard if her. It would be nice if you left a link to who she is. I am a considerate person. She wrote the Wisdom of Menopause. An obstetrician-gynecologist and author of three books. Oh I see now. She is the hottest looking M.D. I bet some fat and ugly MDs hate her. She mentions some vitamin D studies that I will add to my website. I have a webpage that I wrote years ago on curing colds and flus. I mentioned vitamin D and getting enough sleep but now there is research to back it up. The New York Times recently reported on a study that found that those who get less than seven hours of sleep a night are three times as likely to catch a cold as those who sleep at least eight hours a night. Vitamin D is not a vitamin since the body cannot create a vitamin but can create vitamin D. So it is a conditional hormone/vitamin. The only one. Man was supposed to get lots of sunlight and then this would not be a concern. The healthiest people are getting lifeguard amounts of sunlight. For lifeguards life is a beach.

I just want to give my props to Vitamin D. I was dealing with serious dizzy spells, nausea and anxiety issues off and on for the longest time. The doctors performed their various tests and could not find anything wrong with me. I was eating well and exercising regularly and was frustrated beyond belief as to why I was still feeling so crummy. I refused the recommended "happy pills" and got a new doctor. She performed a Vitamin D test on a whim and found that my level was at a 5. Recommended levels are supposed to be above 50 optimally 70-100. Obviously I wasn't getting enough sun and wasn't getting what I needed in my diet. I now take Vitamin D supplements and feel fantastic. From what I read vitamin D deficiency doesn't manifest into physical issues until it's too late or if you're at extremely low levels. This test isn't part of a normal blood draw so you need to specifically ask for it each time you get your physical. Do it. Last edited by HEROpureLOVE; 11-22-2009 at 03:16 AM. |

I recently destroyed a developing cold by using vitamin D. The formula is 2,000IU for each kg. of body weight (which for me was 180,000IU a day) for 3 days. That meant 36 gel caps of 5,000IU, which seems outrageous, but it disappeared all symptoms in 48 hrs! GRC♥|♥Vitamin D Research♥♥ The podcast is NOT done by a health authority, rather a computer security authority who happens to be a health enthusiast whose research led him to believe that this was important enough to go off-topic and devote an entire episode to it. He won bonus points with me by pointing out multiple times that correlation is not causation. I'm still researching it - reading the Vitamin D Prescription now, & I plan to check up on the individual studies after, but I'm damned happy with the results after just a few weeks.

The video was a summary of the the 2 day event for 100 brilliant scientists to show their stuff in technical language that many would not understand. This event was sponsored (that is technical talk for being paid for) by the NCI. The National Cancer Insitute receives over $2 billion annually (every year) in federal taxes so that means that it was paid for by the American people. The NCI is one of the 27 NIHs (National Institutes of Health) that also includes the CDC (Center for Disease Control). Please note that I did not force anyone to have to take the time to look up any of acronyms. This is an example of being consderate of others. SCUBA is an example of an acronym so you do not need to look up 'acronym'. SCUBA stands for "self- contained underwater breathing apparatus."

Additionally, the video suggested an awful lot of good *correlations* but to my knowledge (ie, if I didn't miss something) didn't give its sources the way you just did, and more importantly didn't mention causative studies. (By causative, I mean studies where X number of people have problem Y, and half are given the supplement and look at how their stats changed.) The sheer weight of the correlations suggests that vit D is incredibly promising, but I didn't feel like the video touched on much actual causal evidence. I liked the podcast I linked to because it gave enough logic to overcome some of the possibility of pure coincidence. It felt like the video came from a much more emotional place -- which is GREAT as a call to arms, but less so for the persuasion of someone with a science background. I hope this makes sense.

Also tell your friends about it especially females since it can reduce breast cancer by 70%. Most of the women that die between 35 and 44 years old, die of breast cancer. Make sure not to tell your enemies about it. This is not on the video. One of the scientists disagrees with the 70%. He says that enough vitamin D will "virtually eradicate breast cancer." That is from a Canadian newspaper, maybe the Toronto Times. Here is one link I found. GrassrootsHealth | Vitamin D Action - Eradicate Breast Cancer This talks about a 3 day conference in Canada on vitamin D that was done after the above video. Please note that the U.S. government has not accepted the above yet. But Harvard Medical School is now in agreement with what vitamin D can do. The U.S. government will agree in another few years after tens of thousands have people have died from lack of vitamin D. The sun sends sunlight 100 million miles to get to us and the body can transform that energy into something unique. Tiger Woods is unique since other tigers cannot play golf. I know. I tried it and the tiger ate my caddy.
