As a recent college graduate, I think the best time to study would be early in the day. Trying to study late at night almost guarantees falling asleep on your book. Exercise really helped me as well. Running first thing in the morning for two miles did wonders for my energy throughout the day, and I was able to kick a daily coffee habit b/c of it.
