this is the second full day i've had sore legs and a sore back with no logical cause i can think of (i do have some back issues but this is muscular, not the type of structural feeling that is usually there), and a general icky feeling (physically). no fever, no chills, no runny nose or throat issues. no cough. wednesday night i had a sinus headache and late friday night these two symptoms started. i am wondering if this could be the way this year's 'regular' flu manifests or whether it's like an atypical cold. also the symptoms come in waves, feeling good or better, then an upsurge in the sore icky stuff. that's just a bit weird to me. i know a medical professional would be the best source for info, i won't sue you for any ideas you share here. ideas? i tried looking online and kept getting results about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (no chance of that). but i did find a few sources that said muscle aches can sometimes be from a cold. |

If you go and see 7 MDs then maybe they will be able to correctly diagnose it. Actually I know what is wrong with you. You are in bad health. But why 7 MDs? A year ago Suzanne Somers had 6 doctors telling her that she had cancer for 6 days. I heard her say this on a video. They were wrong. She did not have cancer. So if I diagnose you as having cancer, I cannot be more wrong than these 6 doctors. Now the conventional doctors hate her since she interviewed doctors who are curing cancer with alternative medicine and wrote a book on it, Knockout. Her book, Ageless, is a #1 NY Times bestseller. Maybe you have breast cancer. Richard Roundtree who was Shaft in the movie, Shaft, had breast cancer. The best cure for cancer is ravioli. Or it may be graviola. Knockout: Interviews with Doctors Who Are Curing Cancer--And How to Prevent Getting It in the First Place by Suzanne Somers

I had the same type of symptoms the night after spray-painting a car with a defective respirator. A few years ago I had similar symptoms after removing old tar-based car insulation. I used a torch to melt the tar enough to scrape it off. I wasn't wearing a respirator. In each case I thought I was coming down with the flu but after a day I was back to normal.

@ginkgo: i guess you are joking. i don't even accept the bad health comment as this is temporary and i am still more healthy than not. ravioli sounds yummy though. @koneall: thanks, i haven't been around any harsh chemicals that i know of. resting is a good idea i'm already working with though. i was told if it is the flu it would be worse today and it isn't. |

Probably just a cold. If your legs are equally sore then it's not likely this problem but strange moderate to severe backaches sometimes mean a lung blood clot. I had that once, I swore it was just a really bad muscular back ache, it felt like when I got a backache from doing heavy squats. I never heard of such a thing, what a shock!? They treat it with meds and it goes away but before the meds start it is a dangerous condition. |

i'm glad you ended up getting treatment for your condition, and i'm admittedly glad i can logically rule out that lung problem for my own situation. strange to have a cold with no sniffles but better a cold than the flu. | |

I had NEVER heard of or thought back pain could mean that. I was 36, it can happen to any age group. I wish I had known because I took a risk waiting 2 full days! So anyone reading FYI, persistent backaches that feel muscular but don't respond to stretching might warrant a E.R. visit. Health/fitness play no factor. Another symptom is deep breaths causing pain and shortness of breath. Teddy Bruski from the Patriots football team had the condition from a long plane ride to Hawaii. His clot skipped the lung/heart system because of a hole in his heart and went on to cause a stroke. He's fine now. Anyway, your cold may have settled somewhere else besides your sinuses which are a common breeding ground for colds but not the only place they can reside. It is a weird feeling. The leg pain = ?
