I have no idea what the deal is but sometimes when im sitting or lying down and I get up I start to black out.... Its not from just getting up to fast either. I usually get slowly. It is really starting to freak me out especially since I have an anxiety problem. I noticed that when I felt like I was going to black out my heart was racing. When I laid down on my bed my heart started to go back to a normal speed.. The weirdest thing about all this is that my sister is having the same problem. Anyway could this be poor circulation? Or are there other things that would cause this? How would I go about fixing this?

You should probably talk to a doctor just to be sure, but there are lots of fairly benign possible reasons for this. You might be slightly anemic, like my wife. She has to make sure she gets enough iron in her diet or she is always cold had has similar problem to you. Dark green veggies are good, but a supplement is extra insurance. You may need more exercise. I don't know what kind of activity level you maintain, but doing something to get your heart pumping fast at least once a day can do great things for your circulation. Keeping body temperature up is important. If you notice this problem getting worse as the weather gets colder, you may need to invest in some warm socks. Anyway, those are just ideas, but I do recommend a quick doctor visit, just to rule out anything more serious. A doctor can also help you figure out the best course of action for improving matters. Good luck. |

Great reply RockSupreme! In addition, always make sure you are eating properly i.e. getting enough nutrition and drinking enough water.

You mentioned exercise... I could love to but the last time I did I thought I was going to pass out. I had a sever head rush that lasted something like 20 mins. I even told my buddy that was with me to keep an eye on me in case I start to loose consciousness. Anyway I am going to schedule an appointment to get to the bottom of this. Hopefully its nothing serious. Thanks again.

You should see a naturopathic doctor. Then let us know what the doctor said that it was. Maybe you and your sister have a brain tumor.

It sounds very much like vasovagal syncope. Not life threatening as a condition but you need to manage it to prevent falls from fainting. I had it as a teen but it went away after a few years. Vasovagal episode - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |

I could suggest that you take ginkgo biloba since it is good for circulation, but that will not get rid of a brain tumor if you have one. The above is after the doctor says that he has no idea what it is.
