I'm glad. I see around me too often that worrying too much about the minutiae of what we eat is likely to create an unhealthy relationship with food. I believe that a toxic relationship with your food, even if the food itself is perfectly healthy, is more damaging than a good relationship with food that may not always be the best choice on a purely nutritional standpoint. Pleasure, happiness and social interaction are serious contributors to your health, too, and overly strict or obsessive food choices may very well hamper these.

I tend to stick with eatting whatever comes from nature... fruits, veggies, meats, fish, nuts,etc.

I stay away from anything boxed, canned, I only buy frozen of any of the above but nothing prepared.

If I have juice its fresh squeezed, I dont use sugar except for the occasional treat like chocolate, cake, etc. I bake my cakes and cookies myself, I try NOT to buy anything processed.

This is pretty easy for me probably because of the culture I come from. Mom always cooked at home using fresh meat and veggies and desert was almost ALWAYS fruit except for the holidays where we would have pastries, etc.

I drink only water, tea, coffee (seldom) and ofcourse my fresh squeezed juice.

If I need to lose weight, I find that atkins works wonders. I used this diet once after I was done breastfeeding, and I am pregnant again and plan on using this diet again to get back into shape after I am done breastfeeding.

My ideal diet is a Paleo diet where a large proportion of the food I eat is raw, whenever possible. Raw fish and seafood, raw beef when prepared correctly, fresh and organic raw vegetables and fruits. The meat I eat should be grass fed and pastured, which raises the vitamin D and K2 content, increases omega 3's, and lowers saturated and polyunsaturated fat. Also, I would eat plenty of organ meats which are hard to get in North America (thrown out or made into dog food) yet are some of the most nutritionally dense foods available.

I think the word diet sometimes creates a bit of a misconception, as in we have to eat this we have to eat that. And also people tend to think that they mustn't eat this or that. The way I tend to look at things is make healthy eating lifestyle rather than sticking to a particular diet.

Many people who go on diets tend not to stick to them after a while and put weight back on.

I tend to eat on a typical day this;

Breakfast

Porridge/oatmeal with blueberries this is something I have just been trying

Dinner

A wholemeal bap with a veggie burger some lettuce and a tomatoe sliced

Tea/supper

Low-fat macaroni cheese

Sometimes I do eat take-away food for that is once in every while, I try to vary what I eat and always look for different things to try as I find eating the same foods becomes rather boring.
