When I play sports my chest burns and it seems like I taste blood in the back of my throat. Is this asthma? I have no trouble doing long distance running or lifting weights, because I can keep my breathing regular. I read in another thread somewhere that another person said they get this only with irregular breathing such as in sports. Anyone overcome this, or know exactly what it is?

That is not asthma. Asthma is a "wheezing" feeling you get when you struggle to breathe out. I have mild asthma but only get it if I exercise. I just use my medication before exercise to prevent it. I don't know what you have but the blood thing doesn't sound good. Maybe you should see a doctor about it. |

Basically just soccer. Don't spit out any blood, but some phlegm. A couple sites said the lungs just get dry when breathing hard through the mouth, but it seems like there should be a way to fix this...? Last edited by runningbird; 08-31-2009 at 04:39 AM. |
