Anyone here successfully battle the fatigue associated with hypothyroid and/or adrenal fatigue? How about finding that switching to T3 medication increases the fatigue? If so what did you do to resolve that? |

I found that all my fatigue, over my entire life, could be traced to particular food allergies or sensitivities that had developed at that time, and removing those things from my diet eliminated my fatigue completely. If your thyroid meds make you worse, you should revisit your MD. Jennifer |

In my teens through age 33 it was mainly dairy, soy and pork. Though there were over 20 things I tested allergic to. From like age 36 to the present, less dairy, still soy, still pork and now wheat. I got tested with allergists, muscle tested with naturopaths and followed the advice in Eat Right 4 Your Type (book) which can reveal sensitivities that were not related to a positive skin test, for example. That's the only way I found wheat. But wheat was practically killing me. It took me a lot of trial and error but the way I feel now, compared to then, it was totally worth it. I got my life back. Hi WordKeeper, Have you been tested for food allergies and genetic issues? A saliva test will tell you if what you are experiencing is really adrenal fatigue, or if it's something else. A genetic marker test can show gluten sensitivity. There is also a stool test that will rule out parasites. I'd recommend doing all of these (find a qualified nutirionist/naturopath who can help you get these tests and read them properly) before jumping right into trying to fix it. In my case, I had every symptom of adrenal fatigue, but the saliva test showed problems digesting food and getting nutrients from it. Taking 5 enzyme pills with every meal is a night and day difference for me. My boyfriend had similar fatigue issues, but a different problem; the naturopath gave him a different supplement and he feels much better now, too. I have said this before and I will say it again: Do not rely on the Internet to diagnose yourself! I learned this the hard way and went through months of needless exhaustion. Get tested. Yes, it costs money, but it's the only way to know for sure what you have--and once you have the test results in hand, you can work out a non-prescription, natural way to fix your problems. -Erica |
