THIS IS IT. I start 30 day raw trial tomorrow August 22. And finish September 20. My 30 days raw trial is to allow me to finally be fully Raw for a significant amount of time. I haven't actually been 30 days raw in a row. I am eating a lot of junk these days when I need to eat clean. My illness worsens when I make bad food choices. Till now, I've had trouble sticking to Raw because simply put cooked food is so damn addictive. Under normal circumstances, I would transition over an indefinite period dictated by my body. But I want to be healthy and for this I need to discipline myself into eating 100% Raw. Mind over body. I will do this. This is a done deal. |

I wish you the best on your raw pursuit - a raw trial is definitely a good way to get more in tune with your body and enjoy more simplicity in your diet. I've gone 23 days straight on a low fat high fruit raw diet, and it was an experience that allowed me to pay more attention to my body and ultimately helped me understand my body's reactions and needs better. Out of curiosity, what type of raw diet are you planning to do? Hope all goes well!

If you make it satisfying (in nutrients, carbs, and taste), there won't be a struggle. Without trying to, I've found myself at day 55 raw! My plan was a 25 day cleanse focusing on a fruit diet(raw of course), then adding veggies, then raw seeds. But I'm finding this so easy, and it feels normal, so I haven't stopped. See my journal: Raw Pleasure Australia Forums • View topic - New to high raw I still see cooked food as delicious and enjoyable, and I enjoy the smells every day. But I'm not tempted to eat them because I'm so content from an endless variety of tasty, filling fruit. And find foods that will replace your additive food. Raw buckwheat has replaced my grain addiction. And whats more awesome is - when I'm on a fruit diet, I don't even desire buckwheat! Last edited by Herbivore; 08-23-2009 at 07:37 PM. |

Day 1 complete. I don't do well on fruit. Or on anything high glycemic. I am pretty sensitive so it affects me easily. It easily kicks in the "fight or flight" response. My plan is actually High greens, moderate fat, and low fruit. I am finding that having delicious raw recipes... (even as simple as a good salad); makes a lot of difference. So I am making new recipes everyday and also keeping my fridge stocked with variety. Your post reminds me to buy a sprouting jar and buckwheat seeds that I have been putting off. I haven't sprouted and its crucial that I do it ASAP so I have more options to choose from. Thanks for replying! |
