Default Exercise

After 10 hours of work, I think I really need some exercise, but I just feel really tired and don't want to move at all. Anybody can help me?

What time do you start work?

Have you tried exercising before work?

Why not start with some self-hypnosis? As you lay in bed before sleep, allow yourself to relax deeply and count backwards from 100. Now ask your unconscious mind to solve the problem for you while you sleep. Ask for new perspective and understanding as to how you can have the results you want -- something you could take on or give up -- and ask for a sense of how it feels to have what you want.

Tomorrow morning when you wake up, you will have an authentic unconscious response -- pay attention! And take it seriously. Your unconscious mind wants the best for you; it has your health, vitality, and continued existence as its highest priority. All you gotta do is ask. (and listen to the answer )

All it took for me was to learn that aerobic exercise makes you smarter; specifically it is proven to improve your executive function. That has motivated me to get some aerobic exercise every day, even if it's only 15-20 minutes, while before I didn't really place much value on it.

Quote:
The term executive function describes a set of cognitive abilities that control and regulate other abilities and behaviors. Executive functions are necessary for goal-directed behavior. They include the ability to initiate and stop actions, to monitor and change behavior as needed, and to plan future behavior when faced with novel tasks and situations. Executive functions allow us to anticipate outcomes and adapt to changing situations. The ability to form concepts and think abstractly are often considered components of executive function.

I feel your pain, Chef. I don't always work 10 hours per day but I always work at least 8. Seven and three-quarters of those hours on on my feet, walking around, or moving, moving, moving. When I get home, I feel beat to a pulp, not gung ho for a workout. Doing in the morning makes sense but I already get up obscenely early.

aside from the obvious health benefits, GUILT is a great motivator

i put in hours like you, also get up too early already, and extra hours on non job tasks suck most of my time..but at LEAST 3 times a week i pop in a dvd and go to it.

feel better afterwards physically...more alert and engergized.

we control very little in life sometimes...i can control this.

how 'bout just a little vanity?

One thing that works well for me is the 10 minute deal. I make a deal with myself that all I have to do is exercise for ten minutes -- that's not too daunting -- and then I can stop if I want to.

And somehow I always want to keep going, it's amazing. I'm an endorphin junkie.
