Default Scars and other skin damage

I searched many websites and the general consensus seems to be that scars can never be healed perfectly, so that the skin would become as it was before.

Since in the Era of micro-chips and space travel, we still can't make a cream that will heal a tiny little scar, what are some natural alternatives for healing scars from cuts, acne, abrasions, etc?

I always cut myself in various edges (doors, tables) and it seems stupid, but I find it difficult to always be extremely cautious and never make a mistake. Those scars take months to heal and even then, they leave red marks that remains. It is extremely frustrating, since a split second when I don't pay attention can lead to a cut that will mark my body for years to come. There must be a solution...

I am interested in both diet fixes and things that can be applied to the skin. What I found so far is lemon juice, honey and taking zinc supplements if you don't eat meat. Any other ideas?

snail slime.

No I'm not joking. Read this link.

De Tuinen Snail Gel fabulous skincare treatment | Beauty | Heaven Swiss chocolate | MSN UK

When I was a child I had a wart on my hand and my father said I should put snail slime on it and it would go away. It worked. I was flabbergasted but I never really thought of it in any other context other than wart removal. Apparently it has great healing properties.

As soon as you wound yourself, apply raw manuka honey. Excellent healer and no scar will form.

Your skin cells are constantly being turned over, old ones dying and being sloughed off, and new ones emerging. Even the cells in your scars -- they are not the same cells that were there ten years ago or so -- they're new, chronologically. You've regenerated scarred cells somehow.

Since you are able to do that, I think it's also possible to regenerate old, damaged skin cells (and other damaged cells in your body, too) as healthy and vital new cells, surrendering the old pattern of creation and generating a brand new one.

I think I programmed my cell generation in a new way recently when I scalded my hand with boiling water and immediately hypnotized myself, and was left with no marks, no redness, no scarring. Two weeks after it happened, my skin peeled off like a glove made of garlic peel, revealing, soft pretty skin underneath.

I do not recommend this as as beauty regimen.

I like the idea. They have a snail product here, but it's expensive. I wonder if I can't just take the substance left in the trail of a snail when it rains in the park. After all, that's how they initially discovered it's properties, there were farmers who worked around snails a lot, no manufactured product.

I need to see if I can find that around here. Isn't manuka the tee tree? I tried tea tree extract from the Body Shop with absolutely no results. Honey must be more effective no doubt, ironic, since the Body Shop product was specifically designed to cure acne and scars...

Why not? Sounds like a Jedy power How did you manage, I'd like to know all about it... I mean, that's what we humans should be like - powerful beings that are able to regenerate themselves, not let some object or hot water modify our body forever.

That's what we ARE like, so I agree, that's what we should be like.

I think that's what you are. I am just trying to become that. Who knows, maybe you are in fact a shapeshifter and that is why you were able to change the appearance of your hand?

What exactly did you say to yourself after you burned yourself, and how did you amplify that healing command so that your body would listen?

Yes, I am definitely a shapeshifter! Shifting shape is one of my special superpowers.

Immediately after I spilled a torrent of freshly boiling water and coffee grounds right ON to my hand, my first thought was, "uh-oh, how am I going to get myself to the emergency room?" as I watched blisters bubble underneath the surface of the lobster-red skin like a teenager transforming into a movie monster. Owch. The pain was excrutiating -- I burst out in a sweat and felt like I might faint. I ran cold water over my hand as I thought, "oh, great, here's a chance to give hypnosis a try in real, practical way!" and put myself DIRECTLY into trance (what I just described took place in about a second or two).

I don't remember exactly what words I used, but I think it was something like "cool, cool, healing healing healing" as I fully expected to watch the blisters and redness subside, which they did. And as they did, I felt more powerful and creative, and the pain subsided, too. For the next couple of hours, the pain would rear up and I'd go back under and "cool, cool" myself (I used an image of thrusting my hand into a hole in the ice on a snowy day), and by noon there was no more pain at all, no marks, no redness, no blisters -- my left hand looked as healthy and vital as my right. I expected it to hurt later that day when I took a bath, and sure enough, it did, which made me laugh and reminded me to shift my thoughts -- *poof* pain gone.

Later when I was talking about it to Danger Man, I wondered if velocity might have been part of my success -- I didn't hesitate to use my hypnosis tool, but went instantly under, almost as quickly as an unconscious reaction. But there was a conscious moment of choice wedged in there. It made me wonder if I were to get to a level of unconscious competence and eliminate that split-second conscious choice, I might have had zero pain.

And of course, a truly shapeshifting growth to shoot for is having such a level of unconscious competence that I don't ever do such a stupid thing as spilling boiling water on myself again!

That sounds amazing. I wonder if I can make a scar disappear like that, although you will probably say that if I am not sure I can, then perhaps I can't Anyway, I will try. (I mean... I will DO it, cause as master Yoda said, "do, or do not - there is no trying" )

I find aloe the best thing for skin issues - it heals from the bottom of the epidermis and this itself prevents a lot of scarring if the aloe is applied soon enough

Well, that is something I've noticed for myself -- when I'm willing to just go ahead and expect, "miracles" happen; and when I'm only willing to try, "trying" happens.

My hypnosis teacher told me about how his son shrunk an old, huge scar on his arm using hypnosis, I don't remember the whole story - I'll squeeze it out of him and report back.

I just got back from a 2 day trip to the Black Sea. It seems sea water is also beneficial to the skin, at least for me. After going swimming and not taking a shower (cause there were no showers in the resort where I have been), I noticed my skin looked smoother, dryer but more even. However, my stay has been too short to really see the effects.

Acne scars do well with microdermabrasion. Not a good idea for fresh wounds though, lol

For microdermabrasion, you need special crystals that are only found in certain stores, don't you ? I mean, it's not the same thing as using a scrub from The Body Shop is it? I would be willing to try it though.

What about this manuka honey? Is it stronger than other types of honey? I tried regular honey after getting a scrape from a dumbbel (again, luck of attention), and I still got a scar. They take about a month just to close, not to mention that they look very obvious. Can this honey really make the healing process instantaneous (someone said earlier that "no scar will form"). If so, I ,must find this manuka honey.
