Default I have given-up drinking alcohol! :-)

Hey guys,

I have been a long reader of this blog, Napoleon Hills work, and focusing on various parts of my life, such as, wealth building (internet business), my health (wing tsun kung fu, diet and gym), relationships (family, friends, meeting new people, and beautiful ladies ) ... various developments have taken place.

But one thing is this, when I go to bar now with friends, I just do not drink anymore... I prefer to have a good time without it, I don't need it to lift my confidence, because I have a lot of confidence in myself anyhow.

So I have decided to stop drinking, and its the end of my 30 day challenge of not drinking alcohol, and I feel amazing. No more hangovers the following morning, no more wasting money on a lot of drinks in the evening, no more damaging my body with alcohol etc etc...

My focus, productivity, concentration, health, fitness, the lot really, has improved... so this is a new path

Thought I'd share that with you guys

Have a nice day

Kiran

I'm only 15 and I get people at school schocked when I say I don't want to drink alcohol and that I am not going to get smashed on my 18th. I just don't see it. What's so good about alcohol? I think you've done the right thing.

Even right now, I'm pretty used to it because when offered soft drink I just say "No, I'll just get water from the tap".

I stand up for my opinions so again, good job with this!

I never understood what people got out of alcohol anyway. All it ever did for me was give me a terrible headache about an hour after drinking it. Why do people willingly poison themselves like this? Many people make regrettable decisions during a night of drinking and have to live with the consequences for the rest of their lives. Anything that impairs your ability to live consciously should be excluded.

Congrats to yoU!!! Way to go. You should be very proud.

I drink a glass of wine with meals about 2-3 dinners a week because I love the tastes and varieties, but I am considering cutting it out.

Not drinking is an unbelievably wise decision, whether you're 15 or 35 or...

I have an ability to drink superhuman amounts of alcohol and no longer exercise that 'skill'...I love hearing people refraining, not because of 'purity' issues but the unimpared perspective completely wipes the floor with the drinking one results -wise!

Hey guys

Thanks for the encouraging words!

Yes sure is a big decision. When I go out with friends now, I go without alcohol, and I never used to drink during the weeks anyhow. The benefits I'm getting are great.

Steve Pavlina is definately correct, once you know you want to do something, put a plan like the 30 day challenge, or even 21 days, because the habit will get built into you.

I'm just a lot more happy that I don't anymore, it helps my Kung Fu training, my health and fitness, my business, my relationships, everything really, oh, and the wallet so theres just too many plus points

Cheers guys

Kiran

So how do your friends take it? Seems like everyone can't understand how I don't drink, while they always do. I personally hate the taste of alchohol, and I'd have to drink a good amount to actually get drunk ( russian), so it doesn't seem worth it. It's more of a peer thing. Even my dad said that I should drink every once and awhile, depending on the situation. With business, people don't look at you the same when they think you aren't man enough to drink.

My friends are cool. And people know the faith I have in myself not to get infuenced by peer pressure. I try to surround myself with positive people who support you in whatever you do. Another mate of mine doesn't drink, so it's cool.

Actually, it will be easy for me... it was more of a bar/club weekend thing for me... since I don't drink during the week at all... I like to keep a clear head with business and other activities I do during the week . I just find I don't need to drink when I go out in the town now... Binge drinking is just not worth it no more, I've had my time at University, before and after, and done all sorts of crazy stuff, lol... It's just a different phase for me now.

I am with you on that one. I also have a high tolerance level for alcohol and I have ended up abusing it down the years. I am on day 18 of a 30 day trial and I don't intend to drink again once it's up. I feel like I used to in high school days in terms of energy and clarity of thought. It's great!

I never drank alcohol but I know that people do it to kill the pain of their life, to relax and make them high so they feel less stress. At age 13 I was doing Chinese kenpo karate, tai chi and yoga. So I got high from these things instead. They are legal at any age.

In the U.S., the federal law says that you have to be 25 before you can drink alcohol. At what age did you start drinking? I am kidding about the 25, it is actually age 18. No! That is the age for voting and fighting in Iraq. You have to be 21 before you are allowed to kill brain cells. Thousands of college students die every year from alcohol.

U of Penn is one of the 8 Ivy League colleges with others like Harvard, Yale, Cornell, Columbia and Princeton. It is one of the top 7 ranked colleges in the country with Princeton and Harvard being at the top. A student there took 21 shots on his 21st birthday. That is legal and just innocent fun. But since he was very drunk, he fell off a 2nd floor balcony and lived, but had brain damage. So he paid $40,000 a year to get an Ivy League college education and got brain damage instead.

I don't drink (except for a 1 or 2 glasses of red wine on special occasions) as I do not enjoy the taste of alcohol in general and also the fuzzy sensation that I feel afterward. But somehow I think I miss out on a lot of fun because I don't drink. On a recent trip to Japan, a friend of mine went out every night to night clubs, he had so much fun and met so many nice people. I tend to spend my day sight seeing and then tuck up in bed at night. Am I missing out on all the fun?

I'm having more fun going out without drinking.

Just go out and enjoy yourself angies, with your natural self confidence, you don;t need alcohol like most people who need it to lift their confidence to have a good time.

Congrats Kiran. I'm on Day 25 myself and I've been surprised at how easy it was. Now that I'm going out without drinking I can see how costly it really is, in terms of money, energy, health, safety, etc. It's so common in our culture to give up so much just to be drunk.

I don't think I'll quit forever, but drinking to excess certainly doesn't appeal very much any more. I've completely changed my relationship to alcohol, but I'll still enjoy the occasional beer or wine.
