To give some context to where I am at in fitness. First off I currently weigh 223lbs and my target is 215lbs. I regularly go to the gym twice a week, I have a body bug which I'm using to track calorie count. I don't have a specific diet per say but I have been watching my calorie count. I've been doing a bit of looking and from what I was seeing it is bad to try to lose too much weight at once. What is too much though? My thoughts are to ramp up my gym time from 2x a week to 7x a week. 1-2 of those extra times would be more strength training and the rest would simply be doing stretches and running. Perhaps some pushups, situps and iso prone abs daily. Currently I burn 3000-3100 calories on a normal day without exercise. Would it be bad to lose 2 pounds a week for 4 weeks to hit my target goal? Are there other considerations to make aside from just a pure 875 calorie deficit per day? Would I need to take in alot more protein to help prevent muscle loss during this time? (already know I need to ramp it up for muscle development). Any other comments? |

| No, it depends on what your body was composed of before you changed your diet. Weight is such a useless number. It baffles me why people even bother to weight them selves. It's all about body composition.
